I finally have some time to write my first post! And just read through all of yours- you guys have written a LOT in the past 24 or so hours
I'm on NSD 2 and LTW 2. Been super busy with extra work the past couple of weeks, but will ease off next week.
DH got paid a bonus at the end of last month and put 50% towards our mortgage (we split all earnings 50% into joint account). Not a huge amount, but it all helps to avoid those huge interest costs.
Calling- I read somewhere that L!dl perfumes can hardly be told apart from the expensive posh ones. Could be worth a try?Letting Go NST #17

Thank you for the offerI am having a few unexpected battles regarding sorting out the bills. The council wanted me to prove where my exOH was before they would adjust my council tax and the tv/broadband company want to charge me to change the name on the account. They say I can't close the account in his name, as I am not him, and if he did close it, I would need to start a new contract and pay for installation, even though its already installed - how crazy. All I want to do is take over the account, which already comes out of a bank account in my name, and then I can change the package and reduce it to an affordable level for me. Oh well, its nothing horrendous, just more annoying than anything else.

I also have £1000 emergency fund saved to ensure I have enough to live off for the next year. My problem is paying the course fee - £5000! The main grant I'm waiting to hear back from should cover all of the fee. I've also just been told I can apply for two others, 1 worth £1000 and 1 worth £500. Will wait to hear back about them all before making any decisions.
Well that all sounds good on the work front.
If it's any comfort at all Warren Buffett one of my all time hero's, & one of the most frugal men ever despite billionaire status, believes that any money you spend on improving yourself is an investment worth making. So if the £5k enables you to make another x, y or z a year in the long run then maybe it is a debt worth considering.
Anyway sounds like you have it all in hand. Good luck with the 2 grants you may get." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Good evening Turtles!
Looks like the forum is still playing up.
I’ve had another busy night of freelance work. I want to get a decent chunk out of the way by the weekend. I have this project then another, then I want to revamp my office - it’s too much like a fortress of books in here. Books do make me feel safe, but as fortesses go it’s not brilliant as I keep getting invaded by marauding kitties!
A spendy day as the kitties needed food, so I made sure I got my supplies of milk and fruit in too. Don’t need much before the weekend, so should get another 2 SFDs easy. Also thought I’d grab some seeds from Aldi for more lettuce, coriander and parsley. The potatoes have arrived - I have 100 of them!!!I shall split them with my brother who has an allotment.
Also, Nectar got in touch because the toolbar has stopped functioning and given me 200 points. Yay!!!
I found 9p in roadkill, and someone had a birthday at work and brought cake, so that perked me up. I do find the dayjob stressful at the mo, and I’m worried about OH who is feeling very poorly and his tablets are making him physically sick now too. He gets to see a therapist tomorrow, so I hope he mentions this to the doc.
Today, I am grateful for:
l Self-preservation. My dad made me some strawberry jam, so I have been having that with my porridge. I just opened my last jar of beetroot I made last year - made my cheese sarnies much less pedestrian - and decidedly pink!
l Turncoat kitties: I can now get my cat to pester OH for tea on my behalf. Okay, she does it for Dreamies. But I get tea as well, so we’re both happy.
l Free chocolate cake. Are there three other words that could conjure such happy thoughts? Well, yes... That would be free carrot cake, but beggars and snafflers can’t be choosers. :rotfl:Keep reading books!

Wow, the turtle world has been busy! I have only been gone for 3 hours and I have missed loads of posts. Will catch up tomorrow.
Just got back from our rehearsal and we had a lovely time. When I was walking home, a cat appeared from somewhere and literally accompanied me all the way to my front door. It was so sweet. If only I could adopt her, she wanted to come inside my house too. I am calling her Angel (secretly of course).
I am bidding you all good night. Til tomorrow...."There is Life AFTER DEBT."LBM 2009 Total Debt £49046.24 Debt Free as of 27/08/20150
