  • Good afternoon fellow turtles!

It's been a busy morning! Had my shift changed today from 9-5pm to 3-11pm to cover a colleague who is off-sick. Not looking forward to the 11pm finish but it was nice to have a bit of a lie in and it gave me a chance to catch up on some household chores, gardening and cooking. One load of washing on the line enjoying the glorious sunshine, one load chugging away, to be hung outside when DS1 gets home. Cooked lunch and dinner for the hungry hippos - mung bean patties and vegetable and egg fried rice. Also packed a little bit for my dinner at work at 7pm. Potted my tomatoes, tidied up mini greenhouse and sowed spinach, lettuce, park choi, coriander, basil and runner beans (crossing fingers that it's not too late for them already).

Not anticipating any spend today so it might be NSD no. 8 but will declare that tonight when I get home from work.

Thriftylass, sorry to hear about your freezer trouble. I hope that the fridge won't throw a fit too. It's annoying when it happens. It knocks the budget off, doesn't it? Fajitas sound lovely.

Wishus my vote goes to the mushroom sauce.

Well, gotta go to work now. To those who are able, enjoy the sun! Lovely out there.

The descriptions of all your dinners are making me hungry!

Spendy day today as had to buy supplies for the hen do weekend in going on tomorrow. Very excited but lots still to coordinate tonight and tomorrow, plus marking to cram in somewhere. Bought an ice cream on the way home from the shops too and now I'm sat in the garden trying to convince myself I'll be able to get everything done in time for tomorrow evening!

    Evening folks!

Hell of a day here... busy and seemingly anything that could go wrong - did. Still - home now, so it's all good - and days like this that stretch you, often leave me feeling a greater sense of accomplishment.

Today = SFD number 6 too!

    :)

    Hi All

SFD 10 - Cant get excited when Im only £200 below my OD limit this month. Should be able to resolve that shortly.

Landed a £100 party booking for July today, which is excellent news. Really hoping she does the BACS transfer before next week when my rent is due at the business.

Thrifty - I noticed you said you were still cycling at 8 months with one of your pregnancies. I am 6 months now, & am impressed to say the least! I do 7 miles per day round trip & find the afternoon a lot harder than the morning as my bump seems to be bigger by then, which cant possibly make any sense :)

Hi everyone :) The sun is shining and I am smiling :D I'm very impressed with the 50p steak :T

Thanks for the cat food recommendations. My old cat was on asda dry food, but after the pet shop and vet said such food you can buy in the super market is bad for them, like a mug ive been shelling out nearly 40.00 a month. I simply cannot afford it any more and when the vet said his coat isn't as shiny as it could be, that nearly sent me over the edge as my old cat always had a glossy coat. Well he will be back on supermarket stuff. Thanks guys :T

I was very happy I got 4 full loaves of Warburtonn for 38p each ys:) In the freezer they go. Thrifty I feel for you with freezer issues. My fridge is going the same way too. Well I'm working from home tomorrow, so feel quite relaxed now, lol. Bob, maybe bump seems bigger depending on how baby is lying? Take care everyone and have a good evening :)

Today I am grateful for warm sunshine and cooling breezes, for hugs from dd, for my yummy tea, for getting rid of a little more clutter, for bunny stuffing.

A SFD today but had already added one yesterday before DS3 came asking me to pay for something (I was going to pay at weekend and then he did). So the one I added yesterday is for today.

Need to add a little to spends and to de-clutter total. Have scattered ten (mostly opened) flower seed packets around the backs (bits where 'soil' has accumulated and semi wild flowers have colonised) and done some other bits (too hot to stay out long). Really don't know what I am doing with my days, not even turning the laptop on until gone 9pm most days.

Today I am grateful for easy food, for flower seeds (I also have a few cabbage plants when I make somewhere to put them) and for having beaten the energy company into a further refund (some time in the next 30 days - it's a mistake but in my favour and balances out the one that they owe me).
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.

Bob I'm sure one of my pregnant friends told me that your bump sits higher in the morning and slightly lower in the afternoon due to gravity having an effect (she's a teacher and said that all day on her feet meant her bump moved considerably downwards during a day teaching)

  • Absolutely knackered from a very busy shift. Forgot to wear my pedometer so I have no idea how many steps I made. But judging by the throbbing pain on my heels, it must be at 12,00. Will hit the sack soon. Just wanted to say good night turtles. One NSD bagged today NSD NO. 8. Til tomorrow...

Fmess - how interesting. Thanks for that. I find the opposite and I'm literally on my feet all day too. I suppose it may also relate to how much you have eaten that day, position of the baby overall, etc.

The only Girl - I have been meaning to ask what all these steps people are counting actually mean. Does the number of steps directly equate the number of miles or kilometers people are walking?
