What have you done to be nice today?

Well, you don't have to rush about trying to do nice things to counteract the not nice things you do or think!! Come to think of it, if I had to do that every time I had a bad thought (chiefly why the bl00dy hell do people get to the till, put their shopping through and THEN think about getting their money/loyalty card/bank card out? I work in retaiil, annoys me every single day) I would have to be the equivalent of Mother Teresa!!
But carry on with the little things, if this has the bonus of cheering people up, even better.
Probably because they needed their hands free to (a) hold their basket or pile of clothing or other goods (you don't specify what kind of retail you work in - Harvey Nichols or Lidl) or to pack their shopping.
Nice thing today - helped someone see the world through other people's eyes.0 -
I moved a snail off the pavement so it didn't get stepped on.0

Something I did: sorted out my DD's hair for her prom (I'm not a hairdresser either); with the circlet she looked gorgeous
Proud mummy!
Something someone did for me: told me DD looked stunning. Even prouder mummy!0 -
I got up at 03.30 and drove my daughter from Croydon to Euston Station. It's years since I drove in central London. I then went home and looked after my grandson all day, it was a pleasure.0

I've had the week off but have looked after my grandson for three days. I wasn't supposed to have him today as his daddy was at home and I wanted to finish painting the shed (fun times for a holiday week!) However his dad was going away later today for a stag weekend with his best friend, so I said I'd have him again today as the shed can wait (and he's so cute, the grandson that is!!)
I bought some tea bags and put them in the food bank box at work.
Managed to meet up with a friend from work eventually, work schedules had kept us apart. Lovely time had by all.
Oh and also I've just done ANOTHER load of the baby's washing for my daughter.0 -

Just thinking about this thread, when out of the kitchen window a car with what i thought was a fridge in it pulled up and the Polish tenant got out. I quickly ran over and before he knew it, i was helping him bring it into his house. Been away for a few days with my best friend, we went on the train to the coast. Several times I helped a couple of people on and off the trains with their bags/pushchairs/babies.
The best thing was when a dishy young man helped us carry our bags up the station steps-and we hadn't even asked him too!!0 -
I offered to carry a young girl's bike onto the ferry who belonged to a family who had just cycled around the Isle of Cumbrae. She appeared to be struggling to control it down the steep ramp after her long cycle ride. I think she was about 6 or 7.
However, her dad said it look like she wanted to do it herself so we watched in admiration as she bit her tongue and soldiered on.
I met a Norwegian couple on the Ferry who wanted to drive to Edinburgh airport via the Highlands from Greenock on their final day in the country before catching their flight.
I suggested a route that took in the southern highlands like Loch Lomond but that I didn't drive so couldn't advise after that. I asked a lady sitting nearby if she could suggest a good route and so she consulted maps on his phone and gave him estimated times and routes to track across to Calandar, Stirling and the Trossachs after Loch Lomond before joining their flight back to Oslo.
Reverse good deed - I apologised to the serving staff in a coffee chain for dropping a croissant on the floor that I served myself because the bag had a hole in it, I offered to pay for the spoiled item but it was refused. The member of staff said at the last place she worked in (a pizzeria), if food items dropped on the floor but were picked up within 10 seconds, it was served to the customer. She disagreed with this policy and was glad the coffee chain threw away everything that came into contact with the floor. She gave me an empty golden cup which she signed that means I can get a free hot drink there in the future. I think we bonded over food hygiene.0 -
Yesterday I gave a lift to a elderly couple who the lady was really struggling to walk up a very long hill, they were so grateful bless them.
I also gave a couple a long weekend caravan holiday away after me and my oh couldn't go today, I hope they enjoy it.
