My daughter is testing people for her Psychology Masters, and needed a few more volunteers. I said I'd go up to uni with her to be one of the participants. I got up at HALF PAST 5 this morning, and anyone who knows me well will know how nice that is!! I don't do mornings!!0

I took my 20 month grandson shopping with me yesterday, even though his dad was at home to look after him, so as to give daddy a break (and I love having the baby!!) He's so scrummy and he knows to blow kisses and wave at people when he says bye bye, he did that to the new young girl on the till, made her day!0

One of our customers, a lovely , lovely lady, came in yesterday and was telling me it was her 80th birthday. She always comes to my till for a chat and was telling me all about her family visit this weekend coming and how it was her great grand daughter's 18th as well. While she was finishing her shopping I nipped over to the flower stall and got her a big bunch of flowers for her birthday. She was so surprised she didn't know what to say, looked like she was going to cry, bless her!0

One of the girls at work has a phone that keeps re-setting itself and it's driving her mad. I've offered her one of my old Samsungs to tide her over until she can afford to buy a new one.0

Yesterday, a ticket machine at the train station only accepted cards which frustrated the woman in front as she only had cash and the ticket office had a long queue. I offered to purchase her ticket on my debit card. She, of course, gave me the cash but I did save her loads of time and perhaps got her on her intended train.0

A nice thing a neighbour did.
I invited her and her husband to our Eurovision song contest party - she was keen to see our fancy dress costumes as our attendees dressed to represent the countries they were picked out in a draw..
They never turned up, confessing that they fell asleep that night, but have just given me the bottle of wine they'd bought for the occasion anyway.0 -
Spent an hour and a half making a "circlet" (like a full head tiara but much simpler) for my daughter to wear to her prom this week. She's wanted one for ages, purchased all of the bits to make it herself but was scared to make it in case she "mucked it up". I am no jewellery maker (well, I used to make beaded jewellery as a child) and it was the most stressful ninety minutes of my life (because I didn't want to "muck it up" either). End result - looks quite professional if you just glance at it and, most importantly, my daughter is delighted with it. The smile and joy on her face made it all worthwhile0

I wrote a "snippy" response to a post somewhere on this board ....and then deleted it before posting :-D0

This is quite recent - just landed in Las Vegas after a long flight and got to hotel. Approached check in and spotted a $100 bill on the floor - would have been a nice start to our holiday to keep it but handed it to the lady behind the counter - she said she knew who had dropped it as she had just checked them in. Got extreme thanks from her for being so honest0
