Went in to work and cheered up my work mate as she had just had a snotty customer. (Saturdays in retail-hideous!)
Sent some photos of our joint grandson to his far-away nanny (I try and send a few each week so she doesn't feel she's missing out on him growing up.)
Had a visit from my friend yesterday, she needed cheering up so she played with my grandson for a bit, always a winner!
Sun is shining, always good!
Happy Saturday everyone x0 -
bike broke down outside someones house. Saw keys were in lock of the front door. Banged on door. No reply. Decided to shove keys through letterbox so as they were not to drop to the floor but remain hidden behind flap! Hope this was right decision.
Bought 2 fresh cobs at lidl this am. On coming out saw homeless guy with cap upturned in front of him begging. Gave him one and had the other for breakfast."if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170 -
I lent someone a pen (luckily there was one in my bag). Otherwise, apart from a quick shopping trip to Tesco, I haven't seen a soul as kids have gone on holiday.I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:0

not me but DH - i have just been attacked by a grasshopper that must have been resting on the washing when i brought it in - i screamed and tried to swipe it with the hot iron!! as you do!! DH rescued it and released it outside.
Grasshopper, you have had your chance - Don't try it again!!Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
On Thursday I found an iPhone on the ground in our local park. Posted on the town Facebook page, nothing from that. But later got a call from the owners gran saying her grandson was distraught at losing his phone!
They were very pleased it had been picked up by someone honest, lol0 -
For the following I feel I should be given a sainthood!!
My daughter moved back home from London after her uni degree to live here whilst doing her Masters. Last year we moved house, and she was given the smallest bedroom here when she came back as she is VERY untidy. I could put pictures up of her bedroom when I de-gunged it prior to moving but don't want to put you off!
Anyhow, she is now moving out into a house-share with a family related friend, not because we've fallen out or said she has to leave; it's a short-term option that we're all entirely happy with. I'm even helping her to pack, move and set up furniture etc.
However, today I was asking her details about shared cooking, shopping and housework etc and this is the bit that I think I deserve a medal for. When I asked her about what housework she will be expected to do, her reply was that it hadn't been discussed but of course she'd do her share, as she always has done!!
I had my head under the sink cleaning tiles and kept repeating, 'Don't say anything, don't say anything!' I'm so proud of myself (and her, she's a great kid really!)
Happy Thursday everyone.0 -
I helped an old man with his shopping in Lidl. He couldn't find the items he was looking for because he didn't have his glasses with him so I led him round the shop until he found the right kind of chocolate biscuits and black pepper, which might seem like an unusual shopping list, but I should mention he was steaming drunk :rotfl:0

I handed in to the bus driver an expensive-looking brolly that someone had left on the bus yesterday.
Hope it finds its way back to the owner.0 -
Registered for a voucher for a bag of free cat food (I don't even have a cat) and traded it in at the pet shop for a bag of premium kibble. Bought some small animal treats and dog toys, too. Drove down to the local animal shelter and handed it all in. Hopefully some furry critters are having a nice breakfast this morning.© Cuilean 2005.
