Hi to everyone it's been a long time since I last posted where I currently am with my reclaim of PPI from Egg CC taken out on internet.

Have had to take complaint to FOS have received questionaire from them which I have filled in and returned. They are awaiting reply from Egg then case will be passed to an adjudicator. Will keep you posted!!!!!

Hi and good luck with this.

Do you mind me asking on what reasons you have for the reclaiming?
I note some on here having problems when they have purchased online.

    Many thanks.;)

    Not at all.

I believe that the application was at the time I applied an 'opt out' rather than me selecting the PPI leading people to belive that if opted out of would affect their application. Also I have said that I thought it was unfair to expect people to read the terms and conditons at the time of online application. I have never had any paperwork relating to the insurance and to this date have no idea what I was covered for.
Egg sent me a realtime copy of my application saying that I had selected the PPI cover but the printout did not even show a 'ticked box', so they have not in my view proved that it was me selecting the cover.

I think that more or less what I put. I know claiming CC PPI for online applications is quite difficult and am not sure how this will turn out but worth a go!

    Thank you.;)

Well I personally think you have good reasons to reclaim and fingers crossed for you too.

I understand as well that when some have applied online, the application would not go any further unless PPI was ticked.

That would not surprise me with online applications at all.

Look forward to hearing the outcome of yours.:)

Yes thats along the same lines as I was thinking!! Do you have any idea what the sort of time the FOS is taking to deal with claims?

    Many thanks

Well all the best with yours anyway.;)

Once your complaint is with the FOS, its normally to what I can remember 2-3 weeks before you receive confirmation of your complaint.

Then the following letter should confirm that's it waiting to be passed on to an adjudicator, however, they do tend to try to gather further information from the other party before it goes to judication, where sometimes it can be resolved at that stage as well.

As its difficult to give a timescale on them resolving these complaints, I hear they are getting on with these a lot quicker than they used to, this must be because they have taken on new staff, to try to keep up with the complaints.

So, for example, if your case is straight forward once with an adjudicator (if not resolved before that stage), then maybe 6- 8 weeks, but depending on how quickly the other party take to respond as well, but now the FOS give them a fortnight timescale I believe to get back.

In the worst scenerio, some complaints have taken 15 months or longer, but that is mainly because these cases are rather complexed.

Hope you won't be waiting too long.;)

I have had my Egg Loan PPI complaint upheld by the FOS recently which was taken out on-line with a re-ticked box. I know this is a bit different in that mine was a single upfront premium but the application principle is the same.

Good luck, hope it goes well for you and your wait for an adjudicator doesn't take too long.

Had 4 refinanced loans with LLoyds over 4 years.

Complained early May and got 2 upheld on first letter 2 rejected.

Wrote back again and got the other 2 upheld at 2nd letter stage.

Should be about £3-4k + interest so well worth while.

Well done :D:T:j, it just shows they do not investigate properly doesn't it, to uphold some and reject others for the same reasons, great work and Congratulations!:beer:X

  • Hi All, another little success for me - sent a letter dated 15th April requesting c. £150 back from ppi payments made for a while on my barclaycard. Got a letter this morning saying they will pay back £208.38. Not my biggest success, but it all helps! Thanks all!
