    Good Morning Everyone

I wrote to LTSB last August 09. We had a long telephone conversation on the 6th August 09 whereby they inform me they will investigate my complaint and get back to me in 3 weeks. Its was no surprise that a few days later, I receive a letter dated 6th August 09 where they were rejecting my complaint.

I lodged a complaint with the FOS in September 09, this finally reached an adjudicator on the 28th May 2010. A decision to uphold my complaint was made on the 4th June 2010.

LTSB confirmed yesterday that on the 11h June they uphold ed and accepted the FOS decision.

So just waiting for refund details. Not sure how much though, I was paying about £17- £20 per month between Nov 2001 and August 2005. Charges which have been refunded were also placed on this card.

Thanks everyone on this forum for your support/advice much appreciated!!!

had a loan in 2004 with halifax - sent off the first letter from this website and just recieved cheque this morning for £2300.

word of warning - dont believe every thing these no win no fee ppi claiming companys tell you, i nearly did this, talked to company - guy came to my house - he told me it would be £100 straight away then 25% then 17.5% from my winnings, i signed it all and when he left i had a look at this website after reading i could do it myself i cancelled with the company - money matters - the rep rang me 5 mins later and said i would never see this money unless i went with them - i ignored him, downloaded the letter, filled it in, sent it off and a month later im £2300 better off and its all mine - cheers martin!!
:j congrats :j just goes to show what you can do all for the price of a stamp:money: avoid claims companys they are rip off:eek: we are always trying to steer people away from this route, thank goodness you saw this site

I spoke to HSBC again this morning and they still have not began to look at my complaint. They informed me that I will have a response 'within the next 2 weeks' which will be 15 weeks since I sent my original letter.

I am in exactly the same position as you. wrote to hsbc on 11/3/10 and have had 3 letters saying still looking into and to cancel policy will have to take out new loan. was waiting for 12/6 as they had quoted but had another letter this morning saying they were still looking into. As the 8 weeks have passed, I have decided to go to the financial ombudsman. sent the forms off this morning.

    Hi

Good luck with your reclaim - I'm sure the FOS will resolve this for you.;)

I received another letter yesterday thanking me for my continued patience. That's the third letter since I originally wrote to them on the 16th March.

Have you tried calling the number on the letter? It's worth speaking to them to see if they have began looking at your case yet. I have spoken to them twice in the last week and both times I have been told that no one has been assigned to my case yet and that it will be another 2 weeks before they are in a position to respond to me.

It seems as though they are working through a huge back log so I'm hoping that we start to see a flood of HSBC success stories posted on here in the next couple of weeks.
  • Hello all,

I must say a massive vote of thanks to this site for putting me on the path to sucess.:j

My claim related to PPI on a loan took out 5 and a half years ago with Egg. After only sending the first pro-forma letter twice and the second letter following non reply I have been offered a full refund of all capital, remaining PPI and interest of £4,300.00 (loan interest only).

In short for the price of three stamps I have had a result, I would never have even thought to reclaim if it wasn't for all the help and advice available on here so once again thank you all.

My claim related to being advised that the PPI would improve my chances of obtaining the credit, which of course now we all know was mis-selling. I already had a loan without PPI but after topping up the loan they pushed me to include it, I am assuming that because of this they have given me a full refund.

I hope this encourages other people to give it a go and claim back what is rightfully yours.
