Hi. Just wanted to say a big 'Thank you' to Martin and this site as I have just successfully reclaimed £3,100 from Natwest Bank for PPI on my loan. I used the template letter to say that I had been mis-sold the product as no one had ever discussed whether I should have it or not! I didn't even have to chase them. They responded to say they would look into the matter and within a couple of months I had the money in my bank account! Just can't thank you all enough! I really encourage anyone to give this a go! My partner thought it would be waste of time - but just goes to show it's always worth sending a letter off!

Hi and welcome and Congratulations, great work!

  • I have just successfully reclaimed £3850 from RBS on behalf of Lombard Direct for PPI on a loan!!

I had just written to the financial ombudsman stage of the advise on this site when I received a letter from RBS stating that despite the fact they could find no evidence that my insurance was mis-sold they were willing to give me the above figure as a gesture of good will...

It took a while (about 5 months in all) and about 3/4 letters but other than that it was fairly easy and well worth the effort!

Thanks Money Saving Expert!! I was so utterly skint!!

  • I wrote to Black Horse to ask for a refund of my PPI and have had a letter back to say they are going to pay me back £5,900, wow result.
I have also had a letter from Abbey(Santander) to say they are going to give me my PPI back for a loan I only had for two months getting back £100.00 and am waiting for a reply from them about another loans PPI that I had for two years but as they have not disputed the other one I would expect to get that back as well.

Have written to HSBC to get PPI back for 3 loans that I used to have and they are looking into it, I expect them to be the hardest ones to deal with because when I claimed my bank charges back of £2,000 they went right up to 2 weeks before the court date before they decided to pay me in full.:j

I will go for the credit cards next.

  • What were you reclaiming: loan
    Who was the provider: hsbc
How much did you get back: ????
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: ????
And then write your brief reclaim tale

Made a claim to the HSBC as when i was sold my loans they led me to believe that the ppi was compulsory.

They have not upheld my complaint on the basis that they have signed forms of agreements and signed demands and needs. However i was not asked to read the demands and needs and was told to ''sign here, here, here and here...'' In addition to this i was not told what the cover included and the additional cost for it.. I have disputed the resolution with HSBC and contacted the FOS so fingers crossed that they can sort it out for me..

Has anybody else had any success with HSBC recently?

    :(

    Hi there

So sorry to hear this, however because of this I would not give up, many of us have still signed those stated documents as part of the process of the loan, so if they have not given the final decison, write back to them and ask them to reconsider, otherwise if the final response, move on to the FOS.

    Good luck.
