I had a loan through NatWest some 4 years ago and paid it off early.
I still claimed back my PPI saying that I was missold the insurance. I received just one letter from the bank saying that they were investigating my claim. After a few weeks I received a letter saying that they were awarding me almost 3 GRAND.
    RESULT, thanks Martin. :money:
Im persuing Northern Rock now, so watch this space.;)

Hi and welcome and Well done.:j:T

Hi I have telephone to chase up my claim for my PPI for my credit card with Lloyds they said they had sent a offer letter today to offer a amount !! But we shall see !!! Will they take the amount off my outstanding balance ? Or are they allowed to do that ?
    Please advise me thanks

    Hi there

With LLoyds this can depend, but if your in no arrears (no missed payments) you can request that they refund you, because you were deprived of your own money in the first place because of this and you want the money back in your pocket, good luck.;)

Email response from LLoyds in regards of the 2 loan PPI's.....

Hello and thank you for your e-mail sent on the 12th April 2010.

I apologise for the delays in receiving your payments, however, you should hopefully receive the refund amounts shortly. I am unfortunately unable to give you a specific date as to when the refunds will enter your account. I can confirm that both refund letters were sent to you today with a break down of both refund amounts.

I will be contacting our refunds department today to chase the progress of your refund payments.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Kind Regards,

    Lloyds TSB Customer Care.
:D:D told you to let me go and pick it up for you :p a lot quicker:)

What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
Who was the provider: AA Finance
How much did you get back: £1592
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1 Juicy letter!!

OH...EMM...GEE!! I so cant believe ive been successful...i never win anything lol...I sent one letter just before the end of march and got a response back on Friday 9th april, got a letter today saying that they will be paying back the above amount. BUT! there was a catch, because im currently in arrears still of approx £1400 they said they are gonna wipe the loan off and give me the remaining compensation which is just under £200.

I called em as soon as i got it to tell them that I am in the most financial hardship ever and due to my payments being on time with regards to the debt collection, I would like to receive the amount directly to me and continue paying it off. And they said YES!!! Happy Days!!.....they've already done the damage of defaulting me so i dont mind paying it off for another year or two lol.

Thank-u everybody for your support, this site has been a MASSIVE help!!....Im not getting too excited tho until i get the cheque, cash it and see that four figure sum lying in my bank lol....they said it would be with me in 10 days.

    Now wheres my holiday brochure??

  • Hi. Just wanted to say a big 'Thank you' to Martin and this site as I have just successfully reclaimed £3,100 from Natwest Bank for PPI on my loan. I used the template letter to say that I had been mis-sold the product as no one had ever discussed whether I should have it or not! I didn't even have to chase them. They responded to say they would look into the matter and within a couple of months I had the money in my bank account! Just can't thank you all enough! I really encourage anyone to give this a go! My partner thought it would be waste of time - but just goes to show it's always worth sending a letter off!
