PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Over £2,500 reclaimed!!!
I took out a personal loan with LLoyds TSB in 2006 for £10,000 they were quite pushy with selling me the loan protection and I told them I didn't really want it and they ensured me I did. This added a further £4,000 on my loan and with interest of 6.9% on the full balance added around £1-1.5k onto my loan!
I wrote 1 letter telling them this was mis-sold and within 4 days I had a response letter telling me they agreed and said they would refund me the PPI I have already paid (£60 per month for 2 years) which was £1,440 as well as compensation of 8% of the entire cost of the loan which was 14k so that works out £1,120 all in all £2,560!
Also I was able to cancel my PPI without having to get another loan out! And because I have never missed a payment I will be getting the money as a lump sump rather than having it offset against my loan
On top of this I save £60 per month because I am not paying for PPI!
I couldn't be happier! Thank you Money Savings Expert I am just waiting for the money now
great result, i'm sure you will spend it wisely...............or have a great big party!!!:beer::beer::beer::beer:I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -

My hubby's first cheque payment arrived in today's post of £712, a further £100 distress payment cheque should arrive before the middle of next week.:j
This one is the Credit Card PPI taken out in 2001, settled in full in 2003, he tried to make a claim but was not eligible. (Lloyds TSB) This one resolved by the FOS, which had been with them since 2008.
Now just waiting for the remainder of a few loan PPI's, 2 of those should be paid out over the next week or so and there is one LLoyds are still dealing with, as this one did not go in until more recently.
The 2 loan PPI's were upheld in our favour directly with LLoyds and to be refunded and calculated like how the FOS calculates.
Oh Well done Di. You will have to go back up into the loft and have a search for some more now. LOL:rotfl::mad:0 -

Back in October 2009 I requested a loan statement for an old loan I had with Welcome Finance, after dragging their feet I finally received it nearly three months later, I had rang them to chase it but was told they had 40 working days. After 40 working days I rang again and was told this was not true and that they had 7 working days but that they had posted it out to me in 3 working days(I don't believe they did). They sent me another copy and then I used the template from this website to make my claim. I received a response weeks later which was a complaints questionnaire and letter which said I had to fill in the questionnaire to enable them to assess my complaint. I highlighted that I had been told I wouldn't get the loan if I didn't accept the PPI and gave my income details and work sick pay allowances etc. I received a letter a few weeks later to say they were still investigating and then two weeks ago I got a final reply saying they had upheld my complaint and was refunding me £2045 which included what I had paid plus 8% interest. I was shocked to find that on a £10k loan (settling it after 1 year) they had charged me so much PPI. They advised me to sign the acceptance form and return it in the stamped address envelope or refer to the ombudsman leaflet if I was refusing the offer. There was no leaflet or envelope so I had to send it back to the address on the letter headed paper. The following week I contacted them to check the address was right, there was no contact details on the letter head or the internet even though they have a contact us page with no contact details on! I rang my branch and got the central number and then waited on hold for 30 mins! I was told they had removed all contact details because they were getting inundated with calls so basically they have made it so people can't contact them! I asked the employee had they received my acceptance form and was told it wasn't on the system but that didn't mean they hadn't received it. I asked how long it would take to get my cheque once they'd received it and was told it would be 14 days from when they processed it. I asked for an e mail when they had processed it so I could monitor the timescale and was told they don't have access to e mail. What kind of mickey mouse organisation is this! I asked for a call which he agreed to and to date 14 days later I have not received one so I can only assume they either still haven't processed my acceptance or they are ignoring my request of a call. I tried to ring the other day and there was a fault with the line so I'll have to chase them again on Monday and no doubt wait ages on hold! This companies comms are appalling but to all those who are claiming from them just keep on their backs as I am sure it will pay off, I am not going to stop hassling them until I receive my cheque and it has cleared in my bank!0

Hi there
Well first of all well done on your success.
But so sorry to hear of the messing around your going through with these.
I would write a letter and address it "To the Chief Executive Officer" in short (CEO), and explain this situation and make them aware you will be contacting the FSA if this continues.
Tell them you expect to receive your refund by 7 calendar days of the date on your letter, or you will consider taking further action as well.
That is if you want to of course.;)
Good luck with this and hope you receive your refund very soon, fingers crossed.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
