Hi has anybody used Beneficial Claims Company

    Hi there and welcome.

Is this a claims management company?

I am not too sure to be honest, not sure if others on here have, but if you have a case of being mis sold, then personally I would give it a go yourself, as you will not have to pay anything out, unlike like these claims companies where they charge you and if successful etc, where if you have a go yourself you get to keep all your PPI refund and interest.

Its pretty straight forward really, with the reasons you have, you write to them and request for your PPI, and theyhave 8 weeks in full to respond, you do not have to write down the amounts, but write the account number of the loan account, keep at them until they issue you with a good outcome or until they send the final response with the financial ombudsman service details, where you can move on to these if your reclaim fails with the loans company.

If it was a broker who set up the finance then you write to them.
Post by recorded delivery, for your proof of posting.

More here with the guidelines of reclaiming, good luck and ask for help if required.;)

I found an egg card with PPI so will try and claim for that. I also found an MBNA one but it's over 6 years old so that won't be any good will it?

Good one and yes do go for it, I was successful with reclaiming on PPI on a credit card sold to me in 2001, even though it was resolved by the FOS and not direct with LLoyds, but you still have the chance, and as I always say, you will never know if you don't try and as usual keep on at them.:D:)

    Good luck.

I have looked at the claiming guide but I got a bit confused (not difficult really:o) It was saying about firms being registered with the FOS (?) and MBNA wasn't one. I tried filling in the form but didn't have the PPI number or know how much it came too.

Arh right, so basically these were not protected by the FSA then or GISC who were the regulators before the FSA taken over in Jan 2005?
The FOS are only able to investigate complaints against companies who were protected by the above, but I would still continue with this anyway and see what they come back with.

Exhaust this avenue, and if this fails, then try to find out who the actual insurer/underwriter was to these when you taken them out, these would have been protected by the above regulators, and the FOS may suggest that you pursue through these instead.

Some of us are going this direction to the regulation reason, so you write to them as you do with MBNA, if that fails, contact the FOS anyway, explain your situation and ask if they would know who the insurer was to these.
Then when you write to these and if they say no, then move this on as a complaint to the FOS, where they will then be able to investigate this for you.
The FOS are also trying to make the insurers/underwriters responsible, so basically exhaust the MBNA avenue out first and take it from there.

However, you could always write to the MBNA to request for the "PPI Insurance policy" and they should post them out to you and the details of the insurer should be enclosed on the policy.

There are ways around this yet.
    So not to worry.:);)

If you cannot find the account number ,check any old statements if you have these on hand, or give them as many details as possible in order to track them down, Full name, address, if address was another then when this was taken out, DOB and so on.
And you do not have to worry about writing down the amounts, this is not essential, they should if successful supply you with these, or you request they send them to you.
