    hi tanzy
i wrote to my bank and didnt hear anything for 3 weeks. i went into my local branch and asked if they had recieved my complaint and they had, so i would give it a week then pop back into your branch. some of them take advantage of the 8 weeks and some like to deal with it straight away.

I wonder if any of you can give me some advice concerning a friend of mine?
(I've successfully claimed nearly £4000 myself in PPI.)
She has PPI on credit cards and a huge bank loan. She was working part-time, something like 15 hours a week, when she took out the loan/cards and her income was topped up by benefits.
She's now working full time and has just had her 60th birthday. Her bank loan has increased to something approaching £15000.
She's considering bankruptcy but we wonder if we could reduce her debt by reclaiming PPI.
She lives in rented accommodation so has no assets.
Personally, I think the bank should take some responsibility for having loaned her such vast amounts based on her puny income but I guess that's another story completely.

hi there, try for mis sell, your friend has nothing to lose and an awful lot to gain, put the letters in and take it from there, let us know how you get on. i also feel the banks were too quick in lending money and should share some of the blame, at the end of the day they had the power to say no, on the other hand like myself and many more, when you need the money you are glad they said yes. i am glad those days are gone now, it will help me keep my finances in check

    Hi there

I would post this one on a separate thread on this actual PPI reclaiming section as "Help with Mortgage PPI", then the right ones will come along to advise you on this one, normally Dunstonh and/or MagpieCottage.

    Good luck with this.;)

Well came home today and had a cheque for £4187.63

background is had two loans one in 2000 one in 2002 both missold with PPI as single policy never really had it explained to me and when i paid off loans early i recall at the time the so called Financial advisor said lets just get it out of way too much paper work to try and get a rebate and doubt you will get it. Hmm. not until i reclaimed so small cfedit card charges i looked intot his again. Sent the letters and each time on the deadline Lloyds tsb fobbed me off and eventually after a lot of nagging offered me £1000 i said no took it to financial obudsman and within 2 weeks Lloyds agreed to pay up all costs and interest so go over 4k back.
Thanks to this site and all the advice
    well done thx everyone
