Posted off another 3 letters yesterday, CitiBank, CapitalOne & another CitiFinancial one. 2 cards & 1 loan. Will see what happens for the price of a few stamps.

Not sure if it was on this thread or another one (I'm a bit obsessed with this site! :o) But I checked my credit report with experian and found I had another credit card which I'd forgotten all about! Thankfully the account is closed. So I shall get another letter out just as soon as I buy a new printer as mine has given up the ghost!

This has become a bit of a challenge in itself. I've sent the link to so many people and hope they have as much success as I have, so far......

    • What were you reclaiming: PPI on Loan
    • Who was the provider: Lloydstsb
    • How much did you get back: £2350
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After just 1 letter plus a couple phone calls (but they were nice and friendly)
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale - pretty simple, sent in the letter, I got a letter back saying I could have it back and to sign another letter to agree to them working it out, then it was a waiting game!! original letter was sent in December, got the money back in March. After a few phone calls to chase it up!!
Thank you to all you on MSE that helped me!!! I am over the moon I got it back!! I do believe it was the well worded letter that got it with no probs - and the friendly and helpful support on here!!! My sister had originally sent a letter to the same company and they said no, but then she photocopied mine, added her details and then got hers back within the month!! lol... will put her details here too!!

    My sisters' claim

What were you reclaiming: PPI on Loan

Hi everyone, I wanted to post about my PPI success with First Plus. They added PPI to my load telling me that it was like free life insurance for my husband and a great savings account. I was the main account holder and explained that I did not need it. Anyway I followed the template letters on this website, held my resolve when they offered me just over £2000 whilst not admitting any wrong doing and refered the matter to the FSA. Nearly 6 months later we finally got £10,500 back. In between each step I kept coming back to this website and reading the instructions and your posts. They helped a massive amount! Thank you:D

What were you reclaiming: PPI on Loan on behalf of my partner
Who was the provider: Tesco Personal Finance
How much did you get back: £1546.74
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: After a couple of letters
And then write your brief reclaim tale: I got my partner to cancel his PPI back in 2008 when I first discovered MSE and they were happy to cancel it and refunded some of the PPI. A few months ago we asked how much was outstanding and were a bit surprised that it was almost £2000 more than what we expected. We realised that there was still over £1500 of PPI remaining on the loan so we challenged it ... got back from seeing the Haye vs Ruiz fight in Manchester this morning to a letter from Tesco saying that 'as a gesture of goodwill and without any admission of liability' they were prepared to pay back £1546.74 by cheque within 28 days of reciept of the acceptance form and the monthly payment has been reduced by £15 per month.

... So huge result considering I was expecting them to take it off of the loan account!
