Hey folks!
Just thought I'd drop a line and let you know that I've had a major success in reclaiming my PPI payment on my Halifax credit card!
All I did was follow the guidence on here and used the template letters and I've had £1,600 knocked off my balance, no questions asked!
Cheers MSE!!!!

In february of this year i phoned the financial ombudsman and asked how i go about ppi reclaiming against northern rock ,i told them me and my husband had a loan each and that they had loaded the ppi on to the full loans, they said they would complain on our behalf .Two weeks later n/r sent us a letter and said they were looking in to the matter then last week on the 17th march they have refunded us on both loans plus 8% interest, i really wasnt gonna bother with this but we are now £2100 better off what a great surprise :j0

FAILURE!
tried to claim back 1100+8% off HSBC 2 years ago
they said no, and I stupidly left it at that
at no point did they mention that it was their final response on the matter (they even asked me to supply evidence to support my case)
wrote to them last week and they say they wont look into the case again as they told me no last time and its more than 6 months since then, and theyve said the FOS wont be interested in it.
I've written to the FOS anyway... we'll see what they say, but I was genuinely mis-sold the PPI. thats whats so annoying!
hope everyone has better luck!0 -

Good luck with this through the FOS, hopefully they will consider taking this on for you due to not receiving your final response with the details of the FOS.
Fingers crossed.:);)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Strictly, this will depend on when the response was issued.
Under FSA Rule DISP 1.4.12, the firm was required to tell you in its final response that you only had six months to take the matter to FOS.
That rule was dropped in November 2007 but if your response predates that you should be able to rely on it.
Even if not, the fact that they have not given a time limit would probably count in your favour.
Either way, they are able to waive the time limit if satisfied there are exceptional circumstances.0 -
What were you reclaiming: PPI
Who was the provider: EGG
How much did you get back: £973.35
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1 letter requesting charges and 1 letter requesting money back.
Hi,
I just want to briefly tell you all about my claim to EGG to get my PPI back. I sent 1 template letter requesting the PPI back on the 15th of March and today have received a letter saying they are refunding £973.35 which is going against my loan. I was expecting a real fight but it really was as simple as sending 1 template letter.
I wish to thank Martin and his team and I sincerley thank everyone of you who post on here because it gave me the encouragement and confidence to go ahead and make my own claim.
Best Regards
