Hi, I lurk on here more than I write but I wanted to say a big thank you to Martin and the team for all of their hard work and assistance in PPI reclaiming.
Successes so far (all Lloyds TSB PPI);
Product: Loan for £15k over 7 years
Method: Sent off the 1st template letter and received offer within 2 weeks.
Result: Cancellation of PPI WITHOUT having to refinance loan. Full refund of £3307.91 plus "an adjustment of interest" to my loan account - probably about £1000. Resulting in paying off my loan about a year earlier than anticipated.
Product: Platinum Credit Card
Method: Fought nearly all the way to end, took about a year of yo-yoing between the bank, FOS and me. Eventually the FOS decided in my favour.
Result: Full refund of £944.45 (includes £106.50 interest)
Product: Platinum Credit card (OHs)
Method: 1st template letter sent off. Two lots of "sorry we very busy" letters later, final response received saying that their records are incomplete (shame!)
Result: Full refund of all PPI paid so far plus interest - amount to be revealved to us this week hopefully.
If anyone wants any help with Lloyds TSB with addresses to write to etc, PM me and I'll try to help.
Off to reopen my sister's bank charges claim now under the hardship rules (full time student and minimal income so I'm fairly hopeful)
I don't post a lot but when I do, I try to be helpful:)

What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
Who was the provider: Barclays
How much did you get back: 1000
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Not even one letter! Made a phone call to them asking to cancel, complained that I thought I have been mis-sold due to working in the NHS and that I got redundancy and sick pay and had I have been asked about this at the time of taking out the policy I would never have took it! The money took 6 weeks to be refunded! Result! Thanks everyone! Have used the money to pay off some debts!0 -

What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
Who was the provider: Barclays
How much did you get back: 5000
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman
They offer was in a letter without 'acceptance of liability' yeah right... but in light of new complaint handling rules expected from the FSA as a gesture of goodwill they have upheld my complaint!!! (they're running for the hills)
Full PPI premium refund plus interest plus the 8% interest on premiums
Once again thanks for all your help Martin
If anyone wants any help or would like to know what I did them please PM me and I will gladly help0 -
I helped my sister-in-law claim for PPI from Yorkshire Bank and on Friday she had success!
What were you reclaiming: loan PPI
Who was the provider: Yorkshire Bank
How much did you get back: £588
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: First letter sent to bank in September 2009 and they kept saying they were looking into it, so we kept waiting. They were actually quite good at keeping us informed throughout.
Sister-in-law is very pleased! We're hoping her claim with Barclays (put in at the same time) will be equally successful.Thrilled to be DEBT-FREE as of 26.03.10
Hubby DEBT-FREE as of 27.03.15
Debt at LBM (June '07): £8189.190 -

I wrote to Egg, Halifax, Abbey and MBNA, I got all my money back with interest, nearly 25k using letter 1 for each of them. I am debt free and it has changed my life. Thank you so much martin...you are a star...:j
Wow Shelly that is great!! I have got some money back from MBNA but they only refund from when they took over my account from Abbey - did you claim from an Abbey credit card, if you did what contact details did you use?
Thanks a million!!0 -
What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
Who was the provider: EGG
How much did you get back: 8057.53
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman
After 1 Letter and a 2 week wait.
Story Goes: Had a call from my Mum stating she had been contact by a company touting for business, and looking to reclaim on her behalf. She contacted me and told me about this and I came onto this site to look up what was happening. Found ML information and decided that 25% was a lot to give away for the sake of a letter. Two weeks ago,, sent the letter away to EGG, as I had back in 2003, taken out a loan for 15000 plus 5730 PPI, of which I was told was compulsory, as I was increasing a previous loan of which was applied for on-line.
A week ago I was sent a letter saing they were looking into my claim and it would take up to 8 weeks. Today was sent a letter staing they were sending the payment to my bank. 5730 of the PPI plus 2345 Interest,
Thank you to all on here who helped, this is life changing for me and could not have been done, without your aid. Martin Lewis for Prime Minister. Thank You all.0
