  • A big thank you to Martin and this forum for drawing this to my attention!

I've just received a cheque for £1,579 from Tesco Personal Finance in relation to a loan I took out some years ago. This was a full PPI refund plus interest. At the time, I was told categorically I had to have the PPI even though I strongly argued I didn't need it as I was in a very secure job and had family that could cover the loan if I was unable to. It has always bugged me that I had to take it out so when I read about other people's successes I decided to go for it! I only had to send the first template letter. Tesco PF isn't admitting liability but to refund in full plus interest on the strength of one letter....

    Thanks again! :j

Tried some time ago to reclaim what i believe was misold PPI i was self employed at the time. Sent off the template letters got a reply back saying that they had listened to the recorded tapes and looked at the correspondence we had both signed and basically we where informed and knew what we where signing up to. Foolishley did not pursue this further as i did not have recordings of the phone conversations and it woul simply be my word against theirs of what was actually discussed. Can i try again to reclaim this misold PPI.

    Thanks

  • Just thought i would let everyone know, I have just taken a phone call from my bank to say that they are upholding my claim for the mis sale of my cc ppi. This took one letter using this sites templates. Not sure how much yet but should be a good few pound. Thanks to all of you on here for your knowledge. Would never have thought about reclaiming without your valuble info Thanks

hi there, yes you can still reclaim, this is a front loaded policy, you only get 5 years cover but you pay the ppi for the remaining term of the loan with interest. take a look at this site firstpluscomplaints.co.uk this is a site a guy has set up just for fp disgruntled customers, also there is an issue with fp interest rates that will suprise you. go on there you will get all the help you need and 99%of fp claims are being up held you go for it. write back to fp and put the reasons i have stated above, trust me you wont be dissapointed. please take at the website and sign the petitions. good luck let me know how you get on x

by the way, "you knew what you were signing up to"? so the person who sold you the policy told you it only covers you for the first 5 years ? that you would pay it back with interest for the whole term of the loan? and if you cancelled it you would only get a meagre rebate for this, but the remaining ppi would still be on your loan for the remaining term with interest. if you did then you got the only person who told you the truth.. lol go for it they are rip off merchants

    Hi Ranger

Hmm maybe a standard fob off response, this is like action replay to lots on here.
Due to this, ask them to post you a copy of the phone recordings, they obviously have them as they stated they have listened to them, but this means nothing really, they could just be saying that in hope they will put you off.
They obviously did not discuss the ppi with you on the phone, or they would have been aware of the part of being self employed so you still have a case here, write back if this was not the final decison, request they reconsider, and request they send you a copy of the calls.

If they still do not uphold in your favour, go to the FOS, I'm sure it will all work out in the end, try not to worry.;)

  • still waiting to hear back from lloyds but I suppose its still early days, this is our first ppi claim. Still got a lloyds cc and car loan ppi to do, but want to see how we do with this first. Sent our first letter off on the 5th they received 8th I think, checked this as we sent it recorded post.

Just wondering has anyone had any joy with lloyds ppi claim? Do you have to keep on at them etc?
