    • What were you reclaiming: HBOS
    • Who was the provider: HBOS
    • How much did you get back: £875
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Got back after 1 letter
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale
Sent letter off in November complaining about mis-sold PPI. Got acknowledgment of the letter and told there was a delay in investigating it. Made a phone call after 8 weeks to check the status and a week later got a letter agreeing to a refund. On the 1st March a letter was sent saying they'd be sending a new loan agreement which i recieved 12th March. Sent the agreement back on monday 15th March signed and recieved my money today (17th March). Absolutley delighted.

Thanks to Di and everyone else who offered avice. Now onto my other other claims.

Fantastic James :T, so pleased for you, Congratulations
And good luck with the others.;)
    Your very welcome.:A

  • Two weeks ago I wrote to HFC and Lloyds, last week I got a reply saying HFC was going to pay me back 2,300 and this morning I have received a letter from Lloyds saying that they were going to uphold my complaint but that I have to send a form of acceptance.

I wrote to Lloyds about two loans - one refinanced the other. They are saying that I had 900 settlement back (the loan was for 5 years and for 10,000 no idea was the rate of interest was cos I just sent the letter on the off chance with my loan reference number) but they havent let me know how much they are offering - dont want to send the acceptance form back if I dont know the figures. Is this normal for Lloyds.

Also they havent mentioned the second loan. Will they deal with that separately.

    Thanks

Michelle, email Customer Service and tell them you require the figures in order to know whether your satisfied or not before you decide to sign any acceptance form.

  • Until I came on this site 3 weeks ago I never thought that claiming back ppi applied to me and my circumstances. I saw companies advertising to claim it back for you but never knew it would be this easy. I even contacted a company who wanted 25% of any winnings but decided against it and sent the templates off here. I would advise anybody to do it. If I can anybody can.

    Hi Jane

I would certainly not accept a decision made on the phone, so if I was your hubby I would write back and tell them you only want a response in written correspondence, then what they come back with you have time to figure out on their findings and not put on the spot.

Did they say they were going to put the decision into writing?
If in the armed forces then I'm sure there is a case here, and then you always have the opportunity to take this to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), and they would require the copy of the final response, so make sure you receive this.
    Good luck.;)

Thany you for your help. Yes they said that they would be sending there decision in writing. How do i go about taking this further with the FOS. Do I write a letter. Im a bit lost now sorry. Jane

    Hi Jane

    Your welcome.;)
What you do, you can either ring the FOS for a complaints form here:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/contact/index.html
    Or
You can download and print the complaints form from their website here:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

This must be done by 6 months of the final decision of the company.
If they do not send you any written correspondence, just explain on your complaint form they informed of the decision verbally.
Enclose any copies of evidence you may have to support your case.

I was thinking you could request for a copy of the phone calls from the bank.;)
    Hope this helps.
