Although I've just had success with my loan of over £3k, I'm inspired to try my luck with capitalone card & citi card too. Both of these accounts have been closed for at least a year. So do I just go about it the same way? I don't have account numbers though?:(

    Hi CherryPie

    Well done on your success.

Have you any old monthly statements?

If so the account numbers will be shown on them, but otherwise write give as many personal details as possible, name/address/DOB/Addresses any change of surnames if any since the accounts closed and so on, and request for a copy of your agreement, enclose £1 postal order or cheque payment, and tell them you look forward to receiving your agreement by 12 days.

    Hope this helps.
    Good luck.;)

  • An update on my previous post:

Have had a further £ 4702.04 from Egg being credited to an existing account and this morning a letter from Barclaycard offering £ 1329.02 credited to my outstanding balance, which I'm going to accept.:j:j:j

HSBC have rejected my claims after about eight weeks and I've used the 2nd template letter to ask them to reconsider before writing to the FOS.

Still waiting to hear from RBS re a Mint credit card account ppi.:(

Thanks again to Martin & team , you're a real lifeline in very tough times :T

    £2089.45 refunded for ppi..

    so total so far is.....

    £7638,73....:D

still awaiting 2 others with RBS and another sent to the ombudsmen...:money:

Can I ask if this was a credit card or loan you had with Tesco? I have a Tesco claim with the FOS in relation to PPI on a credit card.

Well done on your success!

I had two separate PPI reclaim to Barclays, one is for my Loan, the other is for the overdraft limit. My loan one has been refund to me earlier this month, however, the PPI on overdraft reclaim has not yet been processed at all.

Has anyone been successful lately on Barclays overdraft PPI?

    Thanks
    Katie

Had no luck what so ever with MBNA credit card payment protection! They had an answer for every possible way tried to get ppi back as he's in the armed forces and the insurance that he payed for covered what ppi covered! They rang him today and every reason he had they had something to back themselves up! They said there was no chance he would get any money refunded! Gutted! 4 years of PPI down the drain! Never mind! Has anyone else had any luck with MBNA??

I am in the same position. Don't give up, get the FOS on the case.

    Hi Jane

I would certainly not accept a decision made on the phone, so if I was your hubby I would write back and tell them you only want a response in written correspondence, then what they come back with you have time to figure out on their findings and not put on the spot.

Did they say they were going to put the decision into writing?
If in the armed forces then I'm sure there is a case here, and then you always have the opportunity to take this to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS), and they would require the copy of the final response, so make sure you receive this.
    Good luck.;)
