Hi there
If they added this without your knowledge then I would certainly make a reclaim on those grounds, send them a photocopy of the paperwork (not the originals) to enclose with your reclaiming letter, good luck.

Just to add on the info from LLoyds response who upheld in our favour last week.
Too much info too add, but the basics here:
DECISION
I have reviewed the records relating to the sale of your loan protection policy and have taken into account your circumstances at the time of the sale.
I have decided to uphold your complaints and offer to settle your complaint in the following manner which is in line with the standard redress recommended by the Financial Ombudsman Service. The offer I propose to make involves 2 calculations.
CALCULATION ONE.
I will calculate the difference between settlement balance you have paid and what the settlement would have been had the PPI had not been added to your loan.
I will then calculate an 8% interest payment on this sum from the day of the loan was settled to the day the calculation is completed.
CALCULATION TWO
I will then calculate the amount you have paid up to the date of cancellation and refund this back to you. This is worked out by calculating how much you paid each month in respect of the insurance loan alone then multiplying the figure by how many months the insurance was active for.
A clearer indication of the PPI monthly payments you have paid to date, you will be able to obtain this information from the copy of the Consumer credit Agreement you received when taking out the loan.
I will then add simple interest at 8% per annum to each monthly payment from the date paid to each amount, to the date you settled the loan.
A further 8% simple interest will then be calculated on this total amount from the date of early settlement of the loan to the present date.
The 8% simple interest amount will then be calculated when I receive your signed acceptances. This will only be processed at this point to ensure the figure is calculated accurately and more importantly correctly. The calculated interest at 8% will then be refunded into your bank account.
Please be advised that this redress remedy that I am offering you has been designed to ensure that you are put back to the same position you would have been in, had the Single premiuim PPI not been included with your loan. The redress remedy I am offering you is the same redress remedy that an adjudicator at the Financial Ombudsman Service (the FOS) would make in your favour.
I am having the figures checked for me at this time, will post them up shortly.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Who was the provider: Egg
How much did you get back: £77.02 (so far...)
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: First letter
And then write your brief reclaim tale
Decided to send the letter after realising it was on my account and didn't know why. They have this morning posted an "adjustment" on my account of £77.02, balance was only £750 anyway. I don't think this is right so I'm going to wait until they send me a letter to explain then question it, but it's £77 I wouldn't have had before!
Just waiting on Capital One and Barlcaycard now
Got the breakdown from egg, the £77 turned out to just be the 8% interest..! They have also agreed to credit my card with £261.78 "CRP premiums charged"! Will be happy when it's done, still no word from cap 1 yet.Nothing to report as yet...give me a minute...!0 -
