Hi All,
Just received a cheque from loans.co.uk for £1,806.28 for mis sold PPI in 2005. Started the process in September 2009. They didn't accept that it was mis sold but made a goodwill gesture. I sent a letter back to them stating I would like to be put back to the position I was in before PPI was added. In December 2009 I received a letter offering the full refund offer of £1,806.28 and they stated I would receive the cheque 2 weeks after signed acceptance form was received. The 2 weeks past so I called them on 20th January 2010. I was told the cheque was on the guy's desk and would be sent out that day and received the cheque today. I have not seen too many success stories with loans.co.uk so hope this gives all of you loans.co.uk claimers hope0 -

I have to thank Martin for this tip. I printed out the letter he provided on this site and sent it off to EGG Banking with whom I have a loan. I forgot about it and a month later I received a letter from them saying they were giving back £3,100 that they had illegally sold me as a Payment Protection Plan. As you can imagine I'm over the moon but they have taken this amount against my loan to reduce the loan which they aren't allowed to do if I request the money as a cheque etc. but they said this is their policy. I argued that it is not correct but then she looked again at my records and saw that I am on a special loan repayment for 6 months as I don't have a proper income at the minute (I pay back £1 per month for 6 months) and she told me that it was because of this. I think she is wrong and they can't do this. I'll write a letter and go through their complaints procedure.0

Hi there
Well done on your success.
I am aware that if any arrears then they can do this, but if anything remaining you ask they refund the remainder directly to you.
If your not happy with the way they have dealt with this then you can always go to the FOS.
Good luck with this please keep us posted.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Well done for your win!
I received a letter from the FOS last week and a call on Monday advising they have emailed Loans.co and asked them to re-consider their 2nd offer, I had 2 loans with them one PPI was abtou £2k and the 2nd and still ongoing is over £10k have 1 yr and 6 months left to pay on it so expecting in excess of at least £8k for it FOS have put an adjudicator on the case and hoping to hear from them next week this has been going on since Feb 2009 and I will be glad when its all over.
Congratulations again and well done x:T:jLiving Life to the Full0 -
I am so glad I followed the PPI reclaim guide!
I followed it step by step and it took about 4 months I did send a letter to the Ombudsman and 2 weeks or so later Welcome wrote to me offering the refund plus interest.
The loan was with Welcome Finance or should I say UnWelcome Finance!
I got £1700 refunded too me for my 3 year loan @ £169.27 a month for 3 years!
I recommend anyone who has a loan and has been missold PPI by Welcome to give it a go...you have nothing to lose as Martin say's!:money:
Go get emmm! I dont recommend anyone no matter how desperate you are to get anything from Welcome they are the biggest robbers out there. I borrowed £1000 and nearly payed back £7000!
Well done and good for you winning against WF.
Well my saga continues.....2day was d-day when they said their IT problem would be resolved on or around 22nd January! And so I continue to wait with bated breath and intrigue to find out IF they are going to fob me off yet again.....
They say.....we will advise u of the position as soon as we have heard from IT.... and then we can continue with the rebook etc etc etc....oh the joys.
This has been going on too since Feb 2009 so cant wait to get this sorted.
Well done again x:T:jLiving Life to the Full0 -

- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 2nd Letter, and 1 phone call
- And then write your brief reclaim tale Trying to claim PPI back on many cards and this loan. Sent first letter (30th Oct 09), got the standard response "we are investigating....", sent second letter, no response, telephoned them to remind them i excisted, got letter through this morning (22 Jan 10) with good will gesture £1,149. Loan was for £7,500 over 60 months, £2010 ppi, but i paid it off early (it only ran for a year) so i'm happy with the result and won't push any further as i can't afford to wait on this one. Thanks MSE'ers
