    More success!!!!!

I got a letter from Halifax today (2 days after the 8 week limit but I'll let that go) saying they're going to put me back in the position as if I had never taken the PPI for my credit card. They haven't said how much it will be and I have no idea how much I'm owed. I hope it's a good one as it dates back 9 yrs. They said I should have payment within 1 month so it's took a while all told but I'm really happy with the outcome.

This comes a month after Black Horse said they would be refunding me £1300. Still waiting for that cheque but they said I should have it by early next week. Thanks again to this site!!

Wonderful, well done and Congratulations.:j:j

Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter 2
And then write your brief reclaim tale

I have had four loans with Black Horse dating back 2003, one is still current. We too were told initially with our first loans back in 2003, it would be highy unlikely we would get our loan without PPI, even though we were in secure jobs paid when sick etc...
Sent first letter, got usual standard letter back could not prove misold policy etc... sent second letter, when no replies sent again. First loan they paid as a goodwill gesture payment £780.00, and another loan cancelled the PPI completely? (this was only small loan) got back £406.55, bit annoyed as wished got this one first, then I would have been able to use this against the goodwill gesture payment, which was based on a rebate calculated on a pro-rata basis and offered me the difference which amouted to £780.00.
We are awaiting response to a third loan, which they sent the usual decline letter, we sent 2nd letter twice, and recently I have phoned them they assured me they would send a letter for a refund once calculated the figures for me to accept within the next 5 days, this is a much larger loan, a bit confused as to what to expect?
We have a loan which is still current which is now huge (as each loan has paid off the previous one, including the PPI) but my husband is sick and now redundant and we are now using the PPI, I am wondering if we will still have some claim on this one? due to previous ones being mis-sold anyone know?
DONT GIVE UP ANYONE OUT THERE! Its thanks to this site, we were also successful on re-claiming bank charges 2 years ago and would never have dreamed of reclaiming Mis-sold PPI if not for this site THANK YOU MARTIN :j:j:j
    will keep you updated
Just to update today Black Horse sent letter as promised, I have received an offer of refund as a gesture of goodwill, offering a more favourable rebated calculated on a pro-rata basis, when I settled the loan early, I received a rebate on policy of £8830.34, pro rata rebate would have amounted to £10969.95, therefore they are offering the difference of £2139.60. I have replied immediately to accept. Am I right to of accepted this amount? or should I have declined, wondering if did the right thing now? But very very happy anyway!!! Thanks again Martin and good luck to others awaiting response:beer:

    Brilliant, well done and Congratulations.:T:beer::T

If this works out to be correct within the calculations then yes.;)
They should also send you a written breakdown as well, ask them if they do not do this.

Got the decision letter from the FOC yesterday and they have ruled in my favour and all I have to do is sign the form and send it back.
It's been a long road and rocky at times but I've won, I've won, I've bloody well won!

    • What were you reclaiming: Loan and Credit Card
    • Who was the provider: Egg
    • How much did you get back: £1781.70 (Loan) £1991.26
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: First Letter
    • I have been looking at this forum for a while and had been meaning to send off some letters but have been a bit lazy so decided in the new year to actually do it so last week i drafted up letters to several lenders and sent them off. I recieved the good news from egg and checked my account today and all my money was in my account. Have now been able to clear all my debt with Egg which was close to £6000.
Im now waiting to hear back from Capital One, Virgin Credit Card, Burton store card (which was GE Capital bank but now Santandar) and also Barcleycard although they have told me they have cancelled my ppi insurance on my card and have asked me to fill in a questionaire. Has anyone had any success with any of these companies ?

    • Sent my letter on 14th Jan received a reply on Saturday 16th , and got my letter yesterday (20th) to say they had investigated my complaint and were refunding all my prmiums paid and interest. I know it's my money that they are re-paying, but nontheless I'm delighted, it will pay off all the oustanding debt and leave me enough money to take a holiday for the first time in years. To all you people out there who are not sure about claiming, do it! It's your money and they didn't think twice about taking it! Thanks to this site for the advice and the courage it gives people to 'have a go'!:j

    Hi there

First of all Well done and Congratulations.:T:T.

Good luck on your other reclaims as well.;)

I believe there have been much success with these compannies either direct or the FOS, but keep at them anyway.

The Questionnaires seem to be standard with some of them now, complete to the best of your knowledge and on the questions they ask where you have already wrote down on the letter you sent them, tell them to refer to your letter, and on the ones you cannot remember, tell them to refer to the account, as they should still hold these details from when they sold the finance to you.

They still have 8 weeks as from your original letters you sent, good luck.;)
