    • What were you reclaiming: Loan PPI
    • Who was the provider: Egg
    • How much did you get back: £10,357.88
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: First Letter after telephone complaint
    • Sent my letter on 14th Jan received a reply on Saturday 16th , and got my letter yesterday (20th) to say they had investigated my complaint and were refunding all my prmiums paid and interest. I know it's my money that they are re-paying, but nontheless I'm delighted, it will pay off all the oustanding debt and leave me enough money to take a holiday for the first time in years. To all you people out there who are not sure about claiming, do it! It's your money and they didn't think twice about taking it! Thanks to this site for the advice and the courage it gives people to 'have a go'!:j

    Absolutely fantastic :T:T:j
Congratulations and well done to you.:A:T

    Hi there

Just make sure that you write everything that applies to you - you write and tell them as well if you have not done so, that you have been deprived of your money etc.

Did you use the template on the site?
If so you can still add more info on it, but other than that just use as a guide and put into your own words to make the letter look stronger.;)

    Hi there.;)

    You will be fine.
If they do not uphold in your favour, normally they give that chance to write back with further information, keep us posted and we shall take it from there and work on a following letter if this did happen.;)

List of addresses here, I assume for the SAR the data dept, post by recorded delivery as well.

    • What were you reclaiming: credit card PPI
    • Who was the provider: Halifax
    • How much did you get back: £4,600
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: 1st Letter
    • And then write your brief reclaim tale I've never been the greatest at dealing with my finances, the credit card statements themselves tend to get throw in a pile without me really looking at them and just pay some money off each month. When I finally did get around to looking at the statement, I was shocked to see PPI had been applied to the account. In fact some months when I added up the interest along with the PPI payments, it came out more than the sum I was paying off (which was in excess of the minimum payment), so my credit card debt was getting worse each month without me spending on it. I'd also had a bit of a clear out of old paper work a year or so ago, so didn't have too many bank statements to hand. With all that in mind, I wasn't expecting too much back payment (I'd calculated £600 from the paperwork I had left). Using the template letter from this site, I sent it off on 15th November. Soon afterwards I received a phone call from the Halifax about my complaint, and was asked what resolution I'd wish to see (I replied cancellation of the insurance and repayment). With Christmas I'd forgotten until earlier this week when I started looking into the second letter. I'd not got around to writing the second letter but yesterday returned hom to find a nice large cheque sat on my door-mat (almost enough to clear my credit card, which had taken a battering due to Christmas and car repair bills)
I'd like to say thank you to Matrin and the rest of the MSE team for putting these templates up for me to use. I would hope that anybody else worried about having a lack of information about their situation will see how easy it really is to reclaim their money given my own story

antsmack, your story sounds very much like the one I've just posed above about my situation. Don't worry, it'll be fine. Hopefully my story above may help ease your mind, and you may end up as shocked at the positive outcome as I was yesterday

    Good luck!
