  • Cahoot Flexi Loan. PPI policy. Claimed back from Abbey / Santander.

After one letter in November, and one phone call in December, they have written and upheld my complaint today. The offer is a FULL REFUND of the PPI premiums, plus 8% simple interest. Total £811. Lovely. I will be accepting this. Ty MSE and Martin!

  • First wrote to FOS June 2008 still waiting for our case to be passed on to an adjudicator!
Is this a standard length of time? We do get a letter from the FOS every few months saying they are waiting for our case to be passed on.
Lost number of the phone calls I have made to them asking how much longer it is going to take.

    Hi there

This is a very long time isn't it? Especially as its not yet been passed on to an adjudicator yet!

I understand they have a huge volumes of these complaints, but if your in any financial hardship let them know and request for fast tracking.

One of mine had taken 14-15 months in total, yet they do seem to be taking longer.

I do hope you hear soon though, fingers crossed.;)

I would contact them every few weeks instead of waiting for them to get back to you, it may help them move this on quicker for you.;)

  • I got a secured loan in 2006 with Barclays and signed up for PPI. Only after reading these articles on MSE did I think to look into it - I am so glad I did, I realised that I wasn't even covered because I had a pre-existing medical condition. I sent my template letter to Barclays who investigated and told me that the PPI was actually set up in my husbands name!! My husband didn't need PPI as he was covered through his job so either way I would have paid £4,500 for something I couldn't use and didn't need!! I contacted Barclays to tell them I wasn't happy with their response and they very quickly responded saying that they don't agree the policy was mis-sold however they would refund my PPI plus interest. What a fantastic result. So three days ago I received a cheque for £3,058. Thank you so much MSE, I would never have even thought to look into it if it wasn't for you :T
