Hi again guys
I got an email from the adjudicator dealing with my case at the FOS. Does this sound promising?
"I can confirm that my view to the business will be issued today and the firm are required to respond to me within 14 days.At this stage, 29th January I will then provide you with an update"

Thank you Money Saving Expert! I was cold-called by a claims company who offered to try to reclaim my missold PPI on my behalf. After reading the advice on this site, I decided to cut out the middle man (and their commission!) and wrote to HSBC myself using your sample letter to reclaim PPI that I was forced to buy as a condition of taking out a loan in 2007. I received the decision letter after exactly 2 months, and am very pleased with the result - while they do not agree with my arguments and will not accept liability, they are refunding all of the premiums I paid, plus 8% interest - £1300! I am in the process of buying a property, so this will be a very handy sum in the coming months!
I'd recommend anyone who has been missold PPI to use the sample letter - it was well worth the half an hour and stamp!0 -
I cannot thank this site enough. I used the template letter in hope to reclaim my PPI from Egg on my loan with them. I sent the letter on Wednesday and this morning I received a letter back from Egg. I half knew it was going to be about my claim and was expecting a huge rejection. Imagine my suprise when I started to read the letter and they are refunding £3,075 direct to my bank account!!!!
I've been crying tears of joy for the last hour, that money will pay off another existing debt I have but also allow me my first holiday in 4 years. Finally debt free and able to enjoy a holiday away with my friends. This year is going to be the best yet.
Good luck to everyone else reclaiming, I hope you have the same success as I.0
