northern rock ppi claim have just recieved conformation of rebate although i am unsure about the amount they are refunding me my ppi premiums. but they are not equal to the monthly payments of £136.77 for 25 months as they apportion more of the premium in the ealy part of the policy term where they say they bear more risk is this right or should i go for ppi payments in full i dont want to push this if im not entitled to0

Hello there
Is this an offer or did they accept liability to put you back in the position as if you did not have PPI?
I am hopeless at working out calculations, but maybe Tiggrae on the next thread to this one (PPI reclaiming thread will take a look for you, you could post this up over that thread if you want to), and double check on this first before you accept anything.;)
Good luck with this. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
they are saying that i was aware of terms and conditions but they have not offered to put it back as if i never had it they say that sale of ppi did not meet there standards thats why they are refunding me0

They all say that as a standard response.
So its an offer then?
If your not happy with this you can ask them to reconsider on the grounds of the accepting this being mis sold, or ask them to reconsider the offer for a higher amount, then of course if they do not do this, as you know you can then refer to the FOS, but please bear in mind, it can take some times with these due to the huge volumes of complaints, but it may also be worth it as well.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thought I would share my success so far with the Black Horse>>
What were you reclaiming: PPI
Who was the provider: Black Horse
How much did you get back: So far: £406.55 - £780.00 two more ongoing
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter 2
And then write your brief reclaim tale
I have had four loans with Black Horse dating back 2003, one is still current. We too were told initially with our first loans back in 2003, it would be highy unlikely we would get our loan without PPI, even though we were in secure jobs paid when sick etc...
Sent first letter, got usual standard letter back could not prove misold policy etc... sent second letter, when no replies sent again. First loan they paid as a goodwill gesture payment £780.00, and another loan cancelled the PPI completely? (this was only small loan) got back £406.55, bit annoyed as wished got this one first, then I would have been able to use this against the goodwill gesture payment, which was based on a rebate calculated on a pro-rata basis and offered me the difference which amouted to £780.00.
We are awaiting response to a third loan, which they sent the usual decline letter, we sent 2nd letter twice, and recently I have phoned them they assured me they would send a letter for a refund once calculated the figures for me to accept within the next 5 days, this is a much larger loan, a bit confused as to what to expect?
We have a loan which is still current which is now huge (as each loan has paid off the previous one, including the PPI) but my husband is sick and now redundant and we are now using the PPI, I am wondering if we will still have some claim on this one? due to previous ones being mis-sold anyone know?
DONT GIVE UP ANYONE OUT THERE! Its thanks to this site, we were also successful on re-claiming bank charges 2 years ago and would never have dreamed of reclaiming Mis-sold PPI if not for this site THANK YOU MARTIN :j:j:j
will keep you updated :beer:0 -

Hiya,
Just thought i'd post up about my reclaiming situation and the latest in a long line of dissapointments lasting pretty much my whole adult life so far from Lloyds. When i took out my loan (i was young and stupid!) i was told (and i know this to be the case because i was there when it happened) that if i did not take out PPI i would not be eligable for the loan (due to my age making me 'a high risk' if memory serves). Now, this is BLATANT mis-selling and i thought this would be perfectly reasonable grounds to put forward a case of being mis-sold PPI and after reading so many stories on here of people being successful reclaiming there PPI that i had a pretty good chance of getting some money back. Then i remembered that i bank with Lloyds TSB, and they f*ck me over at every available oppurtunity. Sure enough they wrote back to me (after 4 and a half months i might add, not 8 weeks, not even close to 8 weeks in fact. Oh, and i had to chase them many times to even get this) and said that they don't believe they did decieve customers into thinking that they had to take out PPI, and included a copy of my credit agreement (with the boxes asking if i wanted PPI clearly pre-ticked). Pretty solid argument, hey? Ok, yes i signed the agreement i'll admit that, but this was after i had been catagorically told that i had to do this to get the loan. So basically, they have rejected my complaint. I'm going to write back to them, but i am unreasonable to think they are being a complete bunch of %$!"£$%^&*(&^$%^^^^s??
Oh, and regarding bank charges, after more than 2 years i havent even had the pleasure of a reply from Lloyds. And the best bit is that i actually submitted my claim long before the waiver came into force, but Lloyds took SO long to actually do anything about it, that the waiver came into force as i was STILL waiting for them to look into it. Obviously once the waiver came into effect i received the standard 'f*ck you' letter, and that was that in their eyes.
Great, isn't it? Glad i've got my account with Lloyds, really. I tell you, i'm almost at the end of my patience with all this. I really dont know why i bother wasting my time and energy most of the time.

Hi there
So sorry to hear this and with my experience of Lloyds being a customer for more than 18 years we have had our fair share of hassle with them as well to be honest.
However, just to let you know of my experience with them in regards of reclaiming.
Over a year ago both myself and hubby tried to reclaim on the PPI of the credit cards, a few letters went in, for a start when this was sold to me I was a houseperson with just receiving the childrens benefits and hubby did also try to make a claim due to an accident and they did not pay out, there are other reasons as well, but that should have been enough to have these upheld, but "no" this did not happen, so we taken them to the FOS who upheld in our favour.
Anyway, we are now on to them about the loans PPI, and still waiting for a result, this time they are sending more letters out asking for more time, as it have gone past the 8 weeks and if we wanted to now we can take these to the FOS, but giving them a little longer, we are hoping this time they will realise due to the reasons on the credit card ppi and with the FOS upholding on these that they will uphold in our favour.
How long ago did you write to them and how long ago did you receive the last response from them?
I assume you realise you can take them to the FOS, just as long as the 6 months have not passed since you last received the final decision from them?
Otherwise, yes do write back and tell them you want this reconsidered, or you will move on to the FOS, give them something like 14-21 days max.
Keep at them until they issue you with the final decision and as you also know its best to post by recorded delivery, so you will know your letter reaches them, by checking the delivery status on the Royal Mail website "Tracking".
Please keep us posted, wishing you luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Still waiting about my PPI claim which is currently with an adjudicator, It's been with the adjudicator for 6 weeks now. I emailed him asking for an update, waited a couple of days but didnt get a response so I phoned him today. He said he hadn't replied to my email because he wanted to wait until there was some positive news for me. How does anyone take that to mean? Not sure if it sounds good or bad!0
