I've ben claiming back PPI from Black Horse for a loan I had from 2003 to 2007. At first, they said they had no record of me (even though they kept sending me invites to take out another loan as I was a 'valued previous customer). I rang their call centre and the guy on the phone was very helpful. He was able to give me my old loan number within 30 seconds. I wrote back to their head office straight away.

Today, 2 weeks later, I have received a letter offring me a payment of £958.83 plus £315.56 in interest. I'M ABSOLUTELY ECSTATIC!!!!!

    The MSE website/forum is awesome!

I initially sent a letter to Halifax to reclaim PPI on a credit card I have with them (still waiting to hear back from them but have had a letter of acknowledgement and apology that it is taking so long). While reading through this forum about people that have reclaimed from Black Horse it jogged my memory that I used to have a loan with them. As a bit of a punt I decided to give it a go with them as well. It's paid off nicely.

    Thanks again MSE'ers!

WOW, this is brilliant, well done for keeping on at them.:T:T:T
Congratulations  and good luck with Halifax as well.;)

    Thanks a million!

I might not get the cash in time for Xmas but we've got our 2nd baby due in March so it'll come in nicely for that.

  • Hello all,

Just an update for you all on my claim with Beneficial Finance (HFC Bank)

    First letter: 4 Oct 09
    1st Response: 10 Oct 09 (Investigating)
    2nd Response: 16 Oct 09 (I won the claim + Acceptance letter)
3rd Response: 7 Dec 09 Recalculated loan Paperwork (Just under two grand) payments gone from £341 to £247 :T
Now..... Still waiting for credit to the bank plus the cheque payments for the months i have been paying since the claim went in

I rang every few days to speed it up, still a bit slow in my view i understand they are upto thier ears in these claims yet my response was "If you were not miss-selling in the first place they your company wouldnt be in this boat, and i can guarantee if i had applied for a loan it would have been in my account within 24 hrs" :p

    And............

I would like to say a great big thankyou to all the ladies and gents on here particularly Di3004 for not only the sound advice she has given throughout but also the practically immediate response to me and others, you can guarantee shes there with her words of infinate wisdom on at least every three posts;) (And i apologise if your not female). This site is held together by not only Martin:money: and his crew but the people in these forums who take so much time out of there day to coach people through the entire process. Thanks also to Amershall, Marshallka and Pinkico for thier sound advice and everyone here going through the process, you all help one way or another with your experiences and taking the time out to share your views and knowledge. Its all very much appreciated, My little 11 mth cub is going to have an awesome xmas this year thanks to you all!:j

I recently claimed successfully against Barclays Bank and a missold PPI on a loan over 7 years.

I wrote to the Financial Ombudsman and received approximately £6,500.00 back from Barclays including 8% interest.

The whole process took about 6 months from my very first phone call to Barclays and receiving the money back into my account.

Brilliant for you. What an amount as well:eek:. Merrrry Christmas:T.

I have at long long last got my ppi refund from welcome finance yipee, in time for crimbo, only took 14 months, but i have at last won !!!
now just need to wait on others, by the way are Capital one right in saying we cannot cliam back our ppi with them if the credit card applied for online??? or is this as i suspect another delay tactic ?? i wont give up !!! but at the moment a very happy bunny :j:j:j:beer::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have recently started a claim from Welcome Finance, were they easy to deal with or did you have to go through the ombudsman?

    Hi all

What is really frustrating right now is the waiting game. Having sent letters off for charges, ppi and cca's, I used to get really excited about what pearls of wisdom would arrive in the post, but so quiet at the moment.

Can anyone tell me if they have sucessfully reclaimed Barclays overdraft protection insurance? I have had their second letter telling me to expect a response by 4 Jan, but would like to hear if anyone has been sucessful with this. It would clear my overdraft staright off.

    Anyone please:confused:
