Just like to say thanks to everyone giving encouragement on here. I thought I had nothing to lose, so used the templates and sent the letters off last Monday(30 nov). I've had a letter today from Halifax (Credit Card) giving the usual guff (no admission on our part, valued customer blah blah blah). It goes on to say that they are going to return my account to where it would be if I hadn't taken ppi. They'll contact me shortly to let me know how much I'm due.
I've had the card since Feb 02 and I've been paying £65 a month for at least a year now(!) on ppi so it should be a fairly nice looking cheque!
It gets said alot on here but for anyone whos thinking of giving this a try, do it. I'm a pessimist at the best of time but this is a fantastic start to the week for the price of a stamp.
Just waiting on the other 3 now!

    Hi and welcome.
This is fab, well done and Congratulations.:T:beer:

    Hi there
Have you tried chasing them up about this?

Was this resolved direct with Lloyds or the FOS?

Good luck hope you receive your refund soon.;)

  • HI
After reading about the process for reclaiming ppi insurance on this site. I made a claim for the insurance on a loan from AA. The insurance was for a total of £1996 so this is the amount i asked for plus 8% interest. I sent my letter about 6 weeks ago, i had a letter almost a week latter from RBS who handled the insurance for AA saying they would look into my complaint. I had said that i felt i was mis sold insurance because i was told i had to have it because of my age age. I received a letter yesterday saying that as they had limited evidence either way they had to decided to pay me the full amount including the 8 % interest. I have to say i was very shocked, at no point did they say no or make me a rubbish offer. They have told me to expect a cheque within 4 weeks. Just wanted to say thanks to this site and hopefully encourage some more people to do the same

    HELP!!
just off the phone to Alison Harries (Head of Complaints)
been trying to find out when Ill receive my cheque as Ive been waiting since 16th of November.
She said since my account had outstanding arrears then they will use any monies due to me to pay towards the balance BUT I will get the statutory interest paid to myself:eek:
The question is......since I have a debt management plan with another company (whom BH has forwarded my arrears onto)can they pay this to them when I have already came to an agreement????!!!!!:confused:

    appreciate ANY help;);) kaz x

They can use the money to pay any arrears and the rest should come back to you.

I sent my first letter off to Welcome Finance on the 26th November, & this morning reeived a letter saying they can't deal with my complaint until they have further information. They enclosed a questionairre with the letter for me to fill in & send back. Is this standard? And also is this quick for Welcome Finance because a few posts on this forum have led me to believe that they will drag it out for as long as possible?

hiya superwhy,I also got the questionaire letter from welcome in august 2008 ....YIP a year ago and still nowhere further forward with my claim .
I do know that they are not giving out credit and have read some posts on here of successes so hang in there like im tryin to do;);)

good luck to me and you lol:D:D kaz x x
