  • Just wondering........started the reclaim ppi process in Nov 2007 and I am still waiting to hear from 5 credit card companies. We have won all our cases to date but they were at the begining of the year. We are in such a mess financially that by the time we get any money back we it will be too late to save us. We keep calling the ombudsman but to no avail. Anyone else experienced delays like this?
    xx
You cant have everything; where would you put it? ;)
    Reclaimed: marbles c/card-£131.00,MBNA c/card-£385.00,Capital One c/card-£230.00,Natwest c/card-£248.68,Nationwide PPI-£1590.88,Nationwide c/card-£56.21,Barclays PPI-£2805.28

    Hi there

That is a very long time isn't it?

If your in any financial hardship, do let the FOS know about this, they may consider moving this on for you on request. This is called Fast tracking.

So are you still waiting for these to me moved on to an adjudicator?

Hope you hear soon, good luck.
If your not receiving emails back from them, I would ring them.;)

  • I can't count the number of times that I have rang them. They just keep saying we are in line to have our case looked at, this has been going on for 2 years! One case has been with an adjudicator for over 6 months! We just don't know whats going on!

What year did you take out finance with these?
Thanks for the response, I don't know if i'll be eligable to claim though - the finance was pre 2005 (i think it was 1999) - what do you think?

    thanks
  • I have just completed a PPI Reclaim For a closed Personal Loan with HSBC.
This loan account had been closed for approx 3 years. The initial PPI I paid totalled £500. I received a final responce from HSBC offering full payment of £1,271.14, more than double of what I had originally paid, because of the interest on the amount and interest for the 3 years that they had had the money. I honestly thought I was sending the letter as a whim, and never thought for a second I would get any money back.
I only sent 1 letter (martins template) initially, I received a letter from HSBC to say that they will be looking into my complaint, another letter after 4 weeks to say that they are still looking into my complaint and then the final responce at 8 weeks which was full settlement of my account! No Questioning nothing?!

I just want to say I think what Martin Lewis has done is giving the power back to the public now and justice for all the years we have been ripped off is now coming to an end.

If anyone is thinking about reclaiming PPI's do it!!!!!!!! You have got nothing to lose, except the price of a stamp or two. My result has been the incentive for my mum, boyfriend and boyfriends mum to reclaim PPI charges.

I would write to them and enclose anything that will prove your in financial hardship, this can be copies of banking statements and so on.
Post your letter by recorded delivery as well, so you can check the delivery on tracking on the Royal mail website.

(Ask them if they could please consider fast tracking your case, due to your reasons enclosed in your letter).
Worth giving it a go, good luck.;)

My personal opinion "yes" go for it.
Many have still been successful from reclaiming from the 1990's, if you don't try you will never know, it may be worth your while.;)
