Well I have received my cheque! They posted it exactly 4 weeks to the day of the ombudsmans final decision. Very happy I got it back eventually
    Well done to you:T
  • I have a loan with Barclays and pay PPI.

I have worte to them asking fro a full refund as i was mis sold but just started gonig through CCCS " DMP ".

If they get DMP letter before paying me out, do you think they will freeze it and stop me having it back ?

IF I get refunded the PPI off the loan, does my monthly payments get reduced too ? or stay the same and I just finish off paying the loan quicker ?

    All comments appreciated

I've been on my DMP for about 8 months. Egg are one of the creditors i pay via CCCS DMP. So i dont think you should have a problem. Well i didn't, they simple reduced the balanced owed to them. I will be informing CCCS about the PPI repayment and i guess they will have to "Re-Jig" the numbers so each creditor gets their equal share, based on the amount i owe to each one.

    Hope that helps.

Hiya, could you tell me if you used a letter template and if so which one?!
Well done to you!!! I just hope I can get them to pay back my ppi on my loan.
sorry for the delay i have not been in all day, hello and welcome to you, if you have a fp loan you will have been mis sold. i just wrote a letter to them saying i was not aware the ppi was put on at the beginning of the loan and i would be charged for it over the full term, i was not aware the ppi only lasted 5 years but i would still be paying it back with no policy in place, they tell you that you get all the ppi back after 5 years if you had not made a claim on it, in my case the ppi was £24000 but i would still pay this back with interest over the remaining 15 years! they are rubbish, all they want is the commission from the sale of the ppi. so you go for it, if you can think of any more reasons why you were mis sold then put those in as well. the fos are upholding the majority of these loans as they are not fit for purpose so get your letter off to fp. you never know they might just make you an offer so you dont go to fos. please let us know how you get on with this, if you need anymore help please ask. have a look on firstpluscomplaints.co.uk this is a site set up for customers of first crap, please sign the petition on there, that site will open your eyes!

    Halifax
    Around 3000.00

Several years ago, I applied to my bank, Halifax, for a loan because I thought I stood a better chance with them as they knew me. I applied over the telephone and was given the hard sell on PPI. No quote was given until I had said that I would take PPI and I was given the strong impression that I would be rejected or disadvantaged in interest rates if I did not agree to the PPI, so I did. No advice was given and there was no discussion of my situation. I was resigned but somewhat annoyed about it because I had no reason to expect dismissal/redundancy and I had other sickness insurance, but thought it was just the way things were done and paid off the loan and PPI premiums over 4 years.

Only on changing on this website last did I realise that my situation gave grounds for reclaiming. Using Martin's template modified as necessary, I made a claim. The Halifax returned the total premiums (nearly 3000) with interest promptly and without dispute. I must say I was pleased with this service and it encouraged me to stay with them as a bankingcustomer.

I sincerely want to thank Martin and his team very much and not just for the reclaim. Before I came here, I believed, although intelligent and well-educated that I was 'bad with money' and was just a victim of financial institutions. Moreover, as I worked all hours, with no time to critically examine what the financial institutions were doing or make comparisons, I felt entirely at their mercy and resented (albeit was resigned to) swingeing charges for such things as inadvertently missed payments..

Here, I have learned that I can be good (or at least better) with money with a bit of know-how and it is not all magic, and have saved pounds, have felt companionship with others who have similarly struggled, and learned that the financial institutions are not all-powerful and with support we can force them to act fairly. There is no doubt that you are a star, Martin.
    :j:jthat is excellent news:beer: well done:j:j:j:money:

Hi there is my first post, which is terrible of me since I browse the site all the time.

However I needed to share this great news with you guys.

I to had been paying PPI payments to egg for about 5 years on two cards, at first I didn’t really understand how I could reclaim or if I had any reason to. However since I’m in debt up to my eyeballs and on a DMP I thought I’d spend the time getting to understand the PPI reclaim process.

Immediately I identified I had a claim. Due to the fact I’ve got a long term medical condition which started about 6 years ago (Before I took the egg cards), I had been miss sold the policy. So last week I wrote to Egg using the templates from this site.

I don’t expect much and I didn’t expect a reply any time soon. BUT how wrong could I have been?

Less then a week after I sent my letter I received a reply from egg confirming they are repaying ALL the payments I had made towards PPI PLUS 8% interest. This worked out to be a massive (For Me) £2500.00.

And it gets better I checked my egg accounts today and the payments have been processed already. My Debt has been reduced by £2500.00 overnight.

Now on to Lloyds for the reclaim of overdraft charges. Fingers crossed.

    Thank you MSE.
:j:jwell done to you! :j go get em;):money:
