Currently I have a loan with Halifax/Bank of Scotland it was for £7500 over 7 years I am almost half way through. They added £1989 PPI to the total of my loan. I wrote to them using the templates on this site on the 21 September 2009 at the weekend I received a letter with an offer in it. They have refunded my premiums made to date and also the interest they have given me an additional interest payment at 8% and a refund of the last 3 months interest in total £1464.79. They have also re-arranged the current loan minus the PPI for the remaining term left on the loan.
Thank you Martin for this article and the letters supplied I am now going back to GE Capital etc for charges on previous loans lol watch this space.0 -

I was Claiming back PPI from MBNA Abbey credit Card. I Sent 1 letter to them (off here) and they sent me a reply letter & asked me to send in letter of evidence of my claim (i was on maternity leave when it was sold to me then i was on income support in 2004 and i cancelled it but it reappeared on every statement and i sent copies of these as evidence.) so i did that the next day sent it by recorded delivery, and had a phone call 2 days later to say my response was in the post and this morning i had a letter from them saying "After reviewing your documentation, i have concluded that you were inelgible for PPC at it's inception, and as a result would be unable to claim any benefit of this policy."
And that a cheque for £225.81 will follow in a seperate letter within the next 10 working days!!
so i'm really chuffed this will help with my 2 lil ones xmas pressies :T
THANK YOU >>>>:money:0 -

Hi all
This is my first post although have been browsing for a number of months!!!
Have recently tried to reclaim PPI from Nationwide credit card as I didn't know until recently that I had been paying for it (can't remember accepting to take it out).
Have received reply I applied back in July 03 for the card on the internet and they stated that their PPI has always been optional and therefore have not been misold the PPI and they sent me a copy of agreement which showed the PPI ticked so i guess this is as far as I can go with this.0 -

Hello and welcome.
Please do not give up, continue with this, if this was not the final decision then I would write to them again and ask them to reconsider your complaint, keep at them until they issue you with the final decision which should also enclose details of the financial ombudsman service (FOS), you can take your complaint to these if your not happy with the outcome.
I understand that it may be more difficult with online policies but there have still been success, despite what they say as you stated above.
If that was the final decision then move on to the FOS.
Good luck and please keep us posted.

Hi there
If they actually stated it was the final decison then yes move on to the FOS, however, as they have already enclosed the FOS leaflet details then yes maybe you can now go this direction, as some will still give the details of these without the final response, but I assumed they should also confirm this was "final", and that you exhausted their complaint procedures.
With the FOS, you can either download and print off the complaint form from the website, or ring them to arrange the post one out to you, remember to enclose "copies" of correspondence" with the complaint form.

Good luck with this and please keep us posted.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
