Hi Di,
Its good to be back and to see how things are going for other people. Unfortunately, I'm trying to work as much as I can (I do transcribing NHS/medico-legal work from home after I've finished my other job as a home help!!) so by the time I've finished that I just turn the computer off and try and relax!!!!
This whole Loans.co.uk thing has been a real pain and now I'm at the end of it its still a pain!!! It took 18 months to go through the FOS (with loads of problems there!) now its taken a further 3 months waiting for Loans.co.uk to actually get my cheque sent!! Its driving me crazy!!! I just want the money so I can get things paid off so I don't have to worry about my debts (or at least not worry so much!!)
Anyway, my family's fine. Hannah's now 8 months old and a beautiful, happy little girl whose thriving well after a very stressful start to life. My grandsons are gorgeous, if not a couple of little devils but I love them to bits!!! Thank you for asking. I hope you and yours are all well and things are going well for you. Thanks once again for your support, and all the other fantastic people on here who are so supportive. You've all given me and so many other people the boost we need to get started and keep going with these claims. I just hope that in the next day or 2 I might be posting that I've actually got my cheque.
Thank you all!! Love and hugs.
Ellbee

I spoke to the FOS a few times for updates and I had one "we're-working-on-it" letter from Egg. Apparently it was due to a "backlog" in the department handling the refunds. I did noticed that one cheque, for the largest amount, was dated June, the rest where dated more recently.0

definitely do - they are horrendous when you ring up. I kept being told different things. The address to write to is:
AA Personal Finance
Customer Relations
Bridgehouse
Queens Park Drive
Chester

Ohhh, dammit. I've just sent a a copy arrangement request to them at Tower House, Chester.
I did google beforehand and kept seeing an address in Halifax, but as I had a statement from them in March this year, I sent it to the address on that.
Should I re-send to the address posted above? Or wait and see?0 -
recently wrote to the AA regards a mis-sold PPI policy. Just got a letter from Bank of Scotland confirming a £828 refund in total (including interest missed by having paid the premiums), and also showing that the monthly payment will now be £100 less!
May I ask what reasons you gave for the mis-selling? And how many letters it took you to get that offer?
Just starting my claim on my loan with AA, trying to check whether I did check the Creditcare box or not first before I decide which paragraph to use for the actual PPI claim letter.0 -
Hi there,
I'm going to bite the bullet at last and send stage one letter to Lloyds re my missold PPI. Can anyone help me out with an address to send it to? Or is the branch address ok?
Thanks again people!
B
Hi we just sent our letter to the branch we got the loan from, and they forwarded it to the insurance side.0 -
After 12 months and going via the FOS Barclays have agreeed to pay me 11k on a credit card I had since 1996 and closed in 2007. Its amazing what compound interest does
Thats just bloody briliant. Its like having a free loan!, I have just taken on capital one £8-9 a month since 2005 + interest.... bea-uuut-iful :TTrishaWhen I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

Hello,
Just wanted to report back on an Egg success!
I took out a loan 5 years ago and I was told that for the interest rate that I was offered I needed payment protection if nothing else was in place. I couldn't remember if I took it or not.
Anyway I thought nothing more of it for 5 years until someone mentioned it at work.
Anyway I logged into my account and saw I had no insurance options, however I never trust anything in lower case... just highlights to me free format type and cover up (could be the office worker in me)
A further root about showed that I had paid over £700 for this, although the initial screen shows I didn't have it!!!!!!!!!!!!
I do have two screen shots that I tried linking but being a new user it wouldn't let me, if you would like them up to see something egg are being naughty with pm me
Anyway, thought I'd give it a pop, letter sent two weeks ago stating my complaint, letter back of acknowledgement, then today a letter to confirm that I'm getting back just over a £1000, I'm getting the PPI plus charges, no interest, but I am happy with this as I figure it leaves more good will in the pot for someone else.
Many thanks for the site as I'm now £1000 better of due to this site, i'm now gonna chase up some Co-op bank charges from 4 years ago for £600, I'll update on how I get on in the right section
Cheers

SUCCESS AGAINST BARCLAYCARD
I filed a complaint with barclaycard in May 08. They told me to get lost as it was time statute barred and as it was over 6 years (by 3 months) since I had taken the card they didnt have to refund me.
I went to the ombudsman in june 08 and they ruled in my favour and I finally received my payment notice this morning.
It has only taken barclaycard about 3 weeks since I signed my agreement and sent back to ombudsman and ombudsman are saying due to backlog it could take up to 8 weeks.
Amount received: £1368.00
As I have already cleared the balance on my barclaycard (through other paybacks from them) this will nicely pay for christmas for the kids.
Note to barclaycard. If you didnt keep arguing the toss you would have less interest to pay back and it wouldn't cost you so much money.
I was expecting about £400 less than they have actually paid me.
It has taken about 18 months but well worth the wait.
Thanks Martin and everyone else for your tips and advice.
Just waiting for payments back from the dreaded Ocean Finance/Blemain now.0 -
