recently wrote to the AA regards a mis-sold PPI policy. Just got a letter from Bank of Scotland confirming a £828 refund in total (including interest missed by having paid the premiums), and also showing that the monthly payment will now be £100 less!

Well done to you Yelf :T:beer:

Just a quick update regarding claim against egg; adjudicator ruled in my favour and asked egg to respond to his findings by early September. They did'nt bother. Had a call from next stage adjudicator to say claim had to go to Ombudsman. This was only a couple of weeks ago so I was really surprised to get letter yesterday confirming final decision has been made in my favour. HURRAH! Question is how long will egg take to sort out cheque??? Is there a time limit that they have to abide by and do they?

    Hi there
Great news for you at last :T:T.
    Well done.

I think the ombudsman will ask them to refund you for as soon as possible, if you hear nothing then for about 28 days, let the ombudsman know so they can chase them up for you.
But do ask the ombudsman about this first.;)

Just to be aware, Egg can sometimes refund (in arrears or not) back to their card/loans outstanding. I would check your accounts to see if they have done it this way as people have posted this before on waiting for a cheque.

Took a loan out from HFC (I have learned my lesson now tho) and I chanced my arm with this as I was specifically told that I would have to take the insurance to get the loan. I was in a very tight spot money wise from the fallout of a relationship falling apart so I took it. I took the chance recently and fired off the templated letter with little hopes of a good outcome.

The other day I got a letter telling me on the first page the whole thing was my fault as I signed the agreement and passed the cooling off phase. So I was a little downhearted when I flipped the page but suddenly they offered me £1964.11 if I aggreed to not take it any further!

So now I am looking for a better rate loan or maybe a CC with 0% to pay off the last of the loan with the above payment!

    Thanks Martin!:money:

Well done!!... I sent a letter to HFC begining of this week and they have responded aready to say that they are investigating it and i should have an answer in 5 working days. How long did it take you from the 1st letter?

    Hi Trisha

Did HFC give you a reference complaint number?

    Cheers and good luck.;)

The reason why I asked Trisha was because I was given HFC details the other day from the actual insurer called Hamilton, as I am trying to deal with my complaint through the insurer themselves, and they emailed with HFC address details and told me that they passed our complaint on to them, and their complaint procedures here below, so just wondered if this have been the case for you also?

    Dear

I've just phoned HFC Bank but they do not have an email address for the Central Complaints Team. Their procedure is that a complaint will be allocated to one of their complant handlers, who will then contact you and provide a reference number and their details (phone/email) etc

Cool, so it looks like they are on to it then.:T
Hope you hear good news on this soon hun.

The insurers then also given me the address of HFC here, I'm sure when I did write to these last year, although it was Endeavour but HFC being part of Endeavour it was not this address i used then, but the address I was given here below in case I need to contact them.

    Central Complaints Team
    HFC Bank
    Camden House West
    The Parade
    Birmingham
    B1 2XJ

    Tel 0845 602 3793
    Fax 0121 214 4088

Am going to wait to see what the FOS says about this tomorrow, because like many on here we have been from pillar to post with our cases, such as from the broker to the lender then to the insurer and so on, and now the insurer are stating its them of HFC.

Lol we will get there, you will be okay though, as mine is one of a few years old.;)

    This is interesting.
Marshallka worked hard on this one for me for a long time and I just wish I taken note now that I kept on, it may be too late for me now though, but gonna give it a go, I have already emailed the FOS about the response we have received back from Hamilton, and hubby did speak to a guy last Friday within the FOS, he said it should be okay but to see what the FOS consultant has to say on Monday, fingers crossed.;)

Here is the email response from Hamilton's

    Dear

I refer to your complaint email of 6 October 2009 which has been passed to our department to respond. I would explain that Hamilton Insurance is now part of Aviva.

I note that your policy was sold by Endeavour Personal Finance and that you have complained regarding the sale of your policy. I would advise that Endeavour Personal Finance are owned by HFC Bank and that HFC Bank are responsible for all of Endeavour's sales activities.

As such, your complaint is not one for Hamilton Insurance/Aviva to answer and I am faxing your correspondence to HFC Bank so that they can handle the matter. I trust that they will be in contact with you shortly. However should you need to contact them in the meanwhile, their details are as follows:

    Central Complaints Team
    HFC Bank
    Camden House West
    The Parade
    Birmingham
    B1 2XJ

    Tel 0845 602 3793
    Fax 0121 214 4088

    Kind regards
