hi all, a lady i work with put a claim in with bos for ppi mis sell, she allready had cancelled the insurance and settled with the company last december,(this was the rebate for the ppi.) then i told her about mis sell ppi and i had heard martin lewis on gmtv, we were not sure if she had a case but they were two seperate claims for different things, so she put a claim in for mis sell and was told by bos to get lost. so she went to fos and hey presto she got a letter yesterday from fos, the mis sell was upheld she will get £9000 back, now she owes me big time!!!! thanks to you all as if it were not for this site i certainly would be in the dark THANK YOU, THANK YOU so much.

Hi there,
Following advice on this website I wrote to Egg to reclaim the frankly extortionate PPI on my loan - the PPI was nearly 20% of the total loan cost. When I'd been sold the PPI I was told it was compulsory. I found out about a year ago that this was illegal but decided to keep it anyway as the unemployment cover was a good backup. However, when I tried to claim after being made redundant a couple of months ago, I discovered I wasn't eligible for unemployment cover - although the policy document included terms for unemployment, sickness and accident, a small sentence in tiny letters right at the end of my loan agreement said 'your PPI covers you in the event of accident and sickness'. That's it - the only indication that I didn't have unemployment cover. What's more, even if I had been entitled, and if I'd claimed for the full 12 months I was entitled to, the payments from the PPI would still have been less than the total premium I'd paid. What utter rubbish.
Anyway, I used the template letter, amended to my specific circumstances, and fully expected to have to follow the process through for several months, but no!
In summary -
Original letter sent by me: 23rd July 2009
Confirmation that Egg had received my complaint: 30th July 2009
Confirmation of complete repayment of my PPI, plus interest: 3rd August 2009!!!
So I've managed to reclaim £1,412.24 in just 10 days - absolutely amazing! I'm chuffed to bits this morning. Thanks so much for the excellent template letters and advice and for anyone else thinking of claiming - go for it. If your case is solid, it seems in some cases they've simply stopped arguing.
Cheers,
Helen :j0 -

WELCOME FINANACE REFUND
Just received a phone call from a nice lady at WF. She has looked into my claim today and has agreed that we are to receive a refund of £4291.90. What a result to say I am over the moon is an understatment. They are going to send a letter of acceptance and after we send that back we will get a check for that ammount. Wont be happy till its in my hand though, but whey hey.
Well Done you am so pleased someone is getting their money back:beer: that is fantastic news.

Hi there great news about your claim, can i ask did you have to wait long? i'm in the process of claiming and I'm sure the 8 weeks they have is up soon - keep checking the post.
Thanks
I started the ball rolling with Welcome just over a year ago, followed the procedure set out on here for claiming PPI.I had no joy with Welcome who basically fobbed me off, complained to the FOS who decided in my favour last month.Welcome payed out 2 weeks later.I am of the understanding now though that Welcome are settling a lot more claims direct with the customer rather than being penalised by the FOS and having to pay compensation.0 -
