    WELCOME FINANACE REFUND

    Just received a phone call from a nice lady at WF. She has looked into my claim today and has agreed that we are to receive a refund of £4291.90. What a result to say I am over the moon is an understatment. They are going to send a letter of acceptance and after we send that back we will get a check for that ammount. Wont be happy till its in my hand though, but whey hey.

    Go TANGO:rotfl::T:T

    my wife first got this loan from NWS bank.

    We got this loan in August 1997

    After a year i had a illness which put me off work for seven months. so of course i made a claim on our PPI, but was told i was not covered,
    only my wife was. (but both our names were on the agreement.):mad:

    This as you can emagine got my goat, but hey what can you do, if they say no then its no:confused:

    12 years on im reading on this site about reclaiming, so up the loft i went and found out all the old paper work, which luckerly i had saved.:rolleyes:

    In april i sent my first letter to NWS bank but recived no reply at all, so i gave them a ring only to find they no longer were there. onto the internet to search for NWS bank to find they were took over by Halifax (bank of scotland). so i gave them a ring explaining that i was not happy and wanted to make a claim, They were very helpfull and gave me a name and address to resend my letter. within a week or so i had a reply stating the reasons why i wasnt happy and said they were looking into it.

    To cut a not so long story even shorter within about five letters i sent. not allowing them the chance to forget i was there. on the 27th july i recieved a cheque for £3939.17.
    Broke down to about £2590.00 refund
    £1349.17 intrest. figures from memory. don't have paperwork with me.:beer::beer::beer:

    can i thank everone on this site for their help.:T
    And of course many thanks to martin.:A:A:A

    Brilliant, well done and Congratulations.

  • I have 2 loans with Alliance & Leicester. One for £5000 taken out 4 years ago and one for £3500 taken 2 years ago. Both of which had PPI added on.
    I was told at the time I would not get the loans without taking out PPI. So after hearing Martin Lewis on Breakfast TV one morning I thought I would write to A & L using the templates from his website ,and low and behold back came a letter saying they would look into the matter but meanwhile THEY advised me to get in touch with the Financial Ombudsman. I duly did this last October and I am Happy to say I received a cheque from A & L today for £1069. This was for the loan for £5000. They have cancelled the PPI and restructured my loan so I am now paying about £20 per month less. I have still to hear from them about the other loan. Can I just say a HUUUGE THANKYOU to Martin and his team, and not forgetting those lovely people at the Financial ombudsman service who have kept me up to date with their progress over the past 9 months. Hopefully I will get the other loan sorted out soon and then I can decide what to do with my Windfall !

    HI wonder if anyone can help have 3 claims in for ppi with a&l for loans,2 they are looking into the 3rd i took out in 1999 and they said cant look into because its 10 years old and they need an account number, which i do not have, whats my next course of action, any suggestions?
  • If the loan was paid back by direct debit through a bank account then the bank should be able to trace which account it was going into?
