    WELCOME FINANACE REFUND

Just received a phone call from a nice lady at WF. She has looked into my claim today and has agreed that we are to receive a refund of £4291.90. What a result to say I am over the moon is an understatment. They are going to send a letter of acceptance and after we send that back we will get a check for that ammount. Wont be happy till its in my hand though, but whey hey.

You say that you started this "loan" in 2004? Do you mean it was catalogue PPI in that it was to protect your payments?

Also as this was 2004 it was before the regulation of insurance and from memory (someone please confirm) Redcats were not regulated by anyone in 2004. I know they were eventually fined http://www.fsa.gov.uk/pages/Library/Communication/PR/2006/136.shtml

but only for sales since their regulation being Jan 2005. (again someone please confirm).

I would still continue the complaint though and see what they say if you are not happy and take it from there.

I tried with redcats also vertbaudet and got nowhere. Fos couldnt help as they werent regulated

Have successfully reclaimed PPI of £2719 from Loans.co.uk!!! for a loan that was completed three years ago. started the claim in february and cheque was deposited into my account last week. sent one letter to start the ball rolling then a questionnaire was sent to ask why i felt it was unfair. this was returned and then about three weeks later we recieved a letter to say we were missold and due a refund. waiting t=fro the amount to be alculated took about six weeks but well worth the wait!!! so glad that we decided to challenge them. :T:T:T

Well done! I had to take my complaint against Loans.co.uk to the FOS. It's taken 18 months to get a final decision and I'm just waiting now for Loans.co.uk to contact me with details of how much I'll get back. They have up to 8 weeks, which I'm sure they'll go up to, then I suppose there'll be a few more weeks to receive a cheque! Ah well, hopefully I should get it before Christmas!!

Can I be cheeky and ask how much your PPI was for? Mine was £3,320, plus £500 to the broker. Loans.co.uk have agreed to pay back 'the value of the PPI premium (less any rebate payment already received when the loan was settled), plus the interest charged on the amount lent to pay the PPI premium, plus interest on the payments made towards the PPI loan, added at the rate of 8% per year from the date of each payment to the date Loans.co.uk make the payment.' I have absolutely no idea how much I'm likely to get back but at least I'll be getting something!

    All the best.

  • Claimed for: Loans
    Who From: Alliance & Leicester
    Amount Received (so far) £8000!!

I had 3 loans taken out in 1997, 1999 and 2001 for various amounts, the largest being £20,000. I only had full details of the middle loan, but claimed for all three on the basis that I would have been forced to take the PPI. About 10 weeks later I received a letter offering £2350 for that one (which ran for 2 years) and today I was told that I would be offered £5650 for the 3rd loan (which ran for 4 years). The original loan (which I can't remember the value or terms of) is still under investigation.

All I used was the template which Martin provided and removed a couple of the points which weren't relevant and there was no argument from Alliance & Leicester at all.

I thought that the age of the loans would stop me from receiving compensation, but apparently not - so if you took out a loan even 10 years ago, get claiming!

Thanks very much for the site Martin & team - keep up the good work :T

  • I took out a loan with barclaycard last year and was pressured into taking PPI. After taking out the loan I tried to cancel the PPI but was told by barclaycard that this was not an option. I put in a complaint back in November last year and this is still ongoing, the last correspondance I recieved was March 18th this year, and that was a final response. I was told I would recieve a refund and a new loan would be set up to replace the exsisting loan, but guess what I am still waiting. Their communication is terrible, I have contacted the Financial Ombudsman, but am at a loss is their any other legal route I can go down, PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
