Gosh, I hope all goes well, they really do play the system, let's hope they stay in business for you to get the money back.

I am onne who is against the org's that suddenly cease trading!!
they can repossess my house cos i have neg equity, then they will chase me till i die for the rest at a quid a week and that will serve them right, i hope dialysys has that train of thought as well, make em wait, they have nothing to secure the debt on then so god help them. i think they will go into liquidation soon, barclays are keeping them at arms length. this morning when they announced profits of over 3 mil i thought ,oh maybe they will pay all the mis sold ppi back? yea right then i woke up

Hello hope you are all well!
Does anyone know anything about Gap insurance for cars?
My friend was sold it when she bought her car from a large garage- she was told by the sales man that if anything happened to the car and it was written off, the Gap insurance would pay the difference between what the car was worth at the time and the ammount left on the car loan, her car went on fire 12 months later and was written off! the insurance company paid what the car was worth at the time and the Gap insurance only paid out £300 this left her about £1400 in debt with the insurance company.
she feels that she was missold this by the Garage- anyone heard of this and know what to do??:p

    Hi Funky

    Hope your well too.;)

Sorry to hear of your mates incident here, a fire......, thank goodness your mate is okay though.

To be honest I am not too sure in these cases, as I take it it was her own car insurance that paid this out, or the main of it but not Gap insurance, apart from the £300.
    Am I correct here?

Just a suggestion here, but hopefully the others here maybe able to clarify this, if your mate was mis sold but then paid out just £300, maybe your mate can complain about being disappointed with this amount and feels now what they sale insurance guy quoted was mis leading, and due to this, for your mate to reclaim on what have been paiud in the insurance and the interest.

my wife first got this loan from NWS bank.

We got this loan in August 1997

After a year i had a illness which put me off work for seven months. so of course i made a claim on our PPI, but was told i was not covered,
only my wife was. (but both our names were on the agreement.)

This as you can emagine got my goat, but hey what can you do, if they say no then its no:confused:

12 years on im reading on this site about reclaiming, so up the loft i went and found out all the old paper work, which luckerly i had saved.

In april i sent my first letter to NWS bank but recived no reply at all, so i gave them a ring only to find they no longer were there. onto the internet to search for NWS bank to find they were took over by Halifax (bank of scotland). so i gave them a ring explaining that i was not happy and wanted to make a claim, They were very helpfull and gave me a name and address to resend my letter. within a week or so i had a reply stating the reasons why i wasnt happy and said they were looking into it.

To cut a not so long story even shorter within about five letters i sent. not allowing them the chance to forget i was there. on the 27th july i recieved a cheque for £3939.17.
Broke down to about £2590.00 refund
£1349.17 intrest. figures from memory. don't have paperwork with me.:beer::beer:

can i thank everone on this site for their help.:T
And of course many thanks to martin.:A:A:A

  • WELCOME FINANACE REFUND

Just received a phone call from a nice lady at WF. She has looked into my claim today and has agreed that we are to receive a refund of £4291.90. What a result to say I am over the moon is an understatment. They are going to send a letter of acceptance and after we send that back we will get a check for that ammount. Wont be happy till its in my hand though, but whey hey.
