PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Just want to share a success with you. My parents took a loan out with the Alliance and Leicester and they sold PPI insurance to my Dad. He was only working 14 hours at the time so wouldn't have qualified for the unemployment cover and he'd had a heart attack the year before, and they didn't ask him about any medical conditions.
I sent a letter (from this site - thanks Martin!) on their behalf back in September last year. Alliance and Leicester said no, so I went to the ombudsman and had a letter yesterday saying that Alliance and Leicester were offering £651.50 - which is the full PPI amount, plus 8% interest! Hurrah hurrah!
This is going to make a massive difference to my parents, I'm so grateful to this site for helping me to be able to kick up a fuss for them!0 -

Hi, just a quick question.
I have a loan with HSBC which included single premium PPI. I'm a little confused as to whether or not I can attempt to claim this back.
I have not had to claim on it nor have my circumstances changed.
Is it still reasonable to try and reclaim if you believe it wasn't sold in your best interests?

Hello there
If you were mis sold for any reason then go for it, these single insurances are looked upon dimly and I believe now they have had to stop selling them this way, for more information check this link below and post up for further help if required.;)

Thank you to this site. I couldn't believe it. This is going to help us so much as we've just had an addition to the family.0 -
