PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I just have to tell someone what happened to me and HFC.
Read Martin Lewis's Newspaper Article (News of the World 28/12/2008).
Sent my two letters to HFC and got the anticipated reply in that it was all my fault and clear off.
Then a letter to FOS in March 2009.
Just got home today and FOS has written saying HFC want to make a no liability offer to settle my PPI claim on a HFC loan account opened over 10 years ago with PPI payed each month.
I have got no idea what i am going to get back - suspect its the PPI payments plus 8% interest simple per year.
Not a bad return for 3 letters and stamps.
Thanks Martin for exposing this rip off - I will be more cautious in future and question everything.

I now pay around £277 per month not including PPI. For the first time the PPI had came off on a separate transaction whereas with all my other loans it all came off in the one payment.
I sent a letter off yesterday to try and claim the ppis back. It's just a waiting game now.

Hi all!
I sent a letter to LTSB because of the massive amount of extra we are paying and believe we were mis-sold the insurance.A week later and we received a copy of our letter and their short letter saying we dont have insurance so that is the end of the matter!!! I have the agreement that says we have it so how could they not have a record of it or are they just trying it on? Can anyone advise me? I am thinking i need to send the same letter back and an extra letter explaining that we do have insurance and then a photocopy of the agreement. Your thoughts would be appreciated Angie:o0 -

Hi Angie
That is odd.
If you do have the agreement which confirms this then yes photocopy it and send it back with a letter to prove this and tell them to continue with your complaint as requested - as from the date you first sent your original letter in, even if you have to send a copy of your original letter.
I take it you do have the agreement do you?The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
HI!!
Yes i have the agreement and the amount on the agreement includes PPI. This amounts to £141 a month, which is what we pay each month. So we are definately paying it!0 -

I agree it is a fantastic site, when I first joined up, it was me asking all the questions lol, and everyone on here are so amazing, and have also helped me big time.;)
Angie there is a way you can request for all your information, it is called a Subject Access Request (SAR), they have 40 days to comply, to send you all the information on your account as requested on the SAR template going back as far as 6 years, with mine I was lucky to have been given details going back even at earlier years.
However there is a £10 charge on this payable by postal order of cheque payment, and best as well to post by recorded delivery, this is your proof of posting.
Here is the link to the SAR template letter and send it to Lloyds tsb data dept.
