I just have to tell someone what happened to me and HFC.
Read Martin Lewis's Newspaper Article (News of the World 28/12/2008).
Sent my two letters to HFC and got the anticipated reply in that it was all my fault and clear off.
Then a letter to FOS in March 2009.
Just got home today and FOS has written saying HFC want to make a no liability offer to settle my PPI claim on a HFC loan account opened over 10 years ago with PPI payed each month.
I have got no idea what i am going to get back - suspect its the PPI payments plus 8% interest simple per year.
Not a bad return for 3 letters and stamps.
Thanks Martin for exposing this rip off - I will be more cautious in future and question everything.

I was successful in reclaiming the PPI on a loan.
The loan was set up by Loans.co.uk, who used GE Money as the lender . The loan was for £5000, with the PPI set at £1,347.50.
I followed the the guidiance of using the letter templates to Loans.co.uk.
I was awarded the PPI total of £1,347.50, with interest paid on the premium £323.48, plus interest of 8% on the payments made towards the PPI £300.16.
In total i was successful in getting £1,971.39

Hiya
I am still on cloud 9 here !! and wondering if any bright spark can do the maths for me.
"...I have got no idea what i am going to get back - suspect its the PPI payments plus 8% interest simple per year..."
I have just been checking my statements for 2008 and what PPI i paid on a monthly basis and it works out on average about £44 PPI premiums per month.
I opened the account March 1998 and its still being paid.
Does this mean i get (on average)
£44 x 12 months PPI payments back - Plus 8% for each year 1998 - 2009 ?
Just need a ball park figure to work on and any help would be appreciated.
