PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Have been claiming back PPI on Barclaycard. Started about November 2007.
No response from Barclaycard so went to FOS. Fos Upheld claim. Thought I would get back about £4,500 which would be back to the 6 year claim limit.
They have calculated back to 1991 when it was taken out and have paid back just under £9,700.:j:j:mad:0 -

Hello every1,
I am just curious if its possible to reclaim a PPI from a mortgage company. Apparently my husband has to take the PPI from Northern Rock about 13 yrs ago b'coz it was compulsory or they won't let my husband have the mortgage if he won't get the PPI which he pays £30 a month until now.
Thanks0 -

Hi there
You can always try, there is no harm in doing this, so give it your best shot.
More information and templates to follow on the PPI reclaiming guide on link below.
Write your own reasons and they have 8 weeks to respond in full.
Another letter maybe required if they don't resolve in your favour, keep at them until you receive either an offer that your happy with or until they resolve this, if they don't go to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS) and ask them to investigate this for you, hopefully the FOS will be able to do this, the final letter from the business should give details of the FOS.

Hi Di,
Hope your well! Its been a long haul with all of this stuff but im glad at lease we got the Capital One back and im praying they pay my boyfriend the cash back as its doesnt really help them just deducting it off the balance like that. Theres plenty more important things he could be using that cash for!
Yes, interesting about your hubbys PPI claims tho, Lloyds really do seem to be the worst bank for this and I would NEVER use this bank for anything again in the future. They really do treat their customers disgustingly.
Thanks for all of your help and advice along the way with my claims you have been a star and I couldnt of done it without everyones help on this site....it really is a godsend and im always telling people about it.

Fingers crossed with the Lloyds case then, funny thing is my hubby had 2 credit card ppi mis sold clases with lloyds, the 2007 case was resolved through the first adjudicator and he has more or less the same reasons but more on the 2001 case, this one lloyds did not get back through the adjudicator, and has been moved on to the ombudsman, which is still in fact in the waiting system for the ombudsman to investigate, the adjudicator upheld this but lloyds did not respond, however there is more to be owed on this one as well.
Great news on the Cap one, Congratulations.:T:beer:
Your doing the right thing by asking to have this paid directly back to you, especially if there are no arrears etc, good luck and please keep us posted.;)XX[/QUOTE]
Treat other people how you would like to be treated yourself and never forget the manners your parents taught you.0 -

Hiya hun
With pleasure.:A
I'm sure the ombudsman will sort them out for you.
I was going to say, if your in financial hardship, I know this seems to be the case for many at this current time, but let them know and ask if they are able to fast track your case to the ombudsman, its worth asking especially if strugging etc.;)
Lloyds are not the easiest to deal with are they?
Well we are here for you through this, all the way and will keep fingers crossed for you, good luck.XXXXXXXXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0
