Happy to be able to report an easy PPI claim from Welcome Finance, £1600 on it's way back to clear balance and leave me £600ish left over...

They say they do not agree but made offer anyway. Can't belive it was so easy...

i had a prior car loan with them, so i'm going to dig out the agreement and see if i can get anything from them on that one too.....

well, it's got to be worth the cost of a stamp!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

  • I have just successfully reclaimed the PPI on a loan
From the HFC bank (i.e. Beneficial Finance, HSBC)
I have successfully reclaimed £4653.04 including interest
And all this was achieved by using the template letter supplied on this site

Well it was definitely a hard sell that got me to take out this insurance, I was up against it when I took out the loan, and was told that I could not get this loan unless I took out this insurance. Well I started to hear different things on the radio i.e. Martin Lewis on the radio 2 show. Then read in the paper that HSBC were going to drop the HFC bank, so I nearly thought, right I will just not pay them anymore and see if it gets lost, but then I just new this would not happen and it would come back to bite me. So I Googled Martin Lewis to get to this site, read all the relevant information, sent off a letter and 2 weeks later got a letter back from the bank, not admitting any liability (I think the money does the talking) but offering me a full refund of the PPI charges and adding 8% interest. So thank you Martin Lewis :Aand all involved in the site, I am now about to look at my credit card payments and any other loans I have had for the last 10 years.

Not only was it all worth it, but it was embarrassingly easy, i.e.; why did I not look after MY money better in the first place, but lesson learnt :T

    Best Regards

:j:j:j:j well done to all winners, what good results all round :j:j:money::money:
  • I took out a loan with TSB in November 2003 and was told that my application would not be accepted unless I took out the PPI.
When I questioned the need for this as I was an at home mum the salesman reliably informed me that it didn't matter as I would still get 'a minimum amount approximately the wages of a shop assistant should I become ill'
After reading the articles on MSE I decided nothing ventured nothing gained and printed off your template for reclaiming.
I have, this morning, received a letter from LTSB saying that are upholding my complaint and will be paying back £1393.94 plus interest charged and pay additional interest at the rate of 8% per year simple as compensation.:jAll l it took was one letter (they probably recognised the template!) Huge thanks to you all- wouldn't have done it without you.

Got my letter today with the actual settlement figure for my BOS PPI. 4200, pleased as about 500 quid more than I thought it would be. Brother in Law is a builder so going to do up my bathroom and kitchen as he will get me all supplies at trade cost and not taking anything to fit it. Happy Days.
    Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. January Treats Budget - £11.80 / £100.
