How good are Barclaycard at replying to claims/paying out on claims?????.Thy have now confirmed by hone that i had ppi for only 7 months back in 2001 so little will be repaid I suppose.Even so anything is a bonus now.
I have had phone call from Halifax re credit card claim and caller said I had taken it out in December 2000. This was a surprise as I thought out much earlier but.....by then my arthritis jhad developed leading to injections, ops and finally 6 years later medical retirement from civil service. I have now sent in these details and claiming additionally on existing ill health condition ie PPi would not have paid out if I had claimed. Didnt claim as fully covered by works sick pay and not aware I had it. Hopefully this means I will have eligible reclaim.

I’m new on here & just want to see if anyone can help as I feel completely lost & let down.

Basically in 2001 LTSB issued me with a credit card that I neither asked for or applied for, in 2012 I asked at my branch if I had PPI on this card & they said no, In 2015 I found my statements & I did have PPI, I made a claim & they wrote back saying I’d made a claim in 2013 & it had been denied & I wasn’t miss sold PPI??? Never made a claim in 2013. Also I asked if they’d been charging me for card protection ( which I already had with my bank account) they replied they had no records of this credit card?? How can they say I wasn’t miss sold if they have no records?? I don’t know what to do next? I was never given any information regarding the PPI that was on my card or given the choice if I even wanted it so how is this not miss selling? HELP 🤬

You added the question markets but forgot to ask the question.

    Again, missing question.
How can they say I wasn’t miss sold if they have no records?

Did they say they had no record of CPP on the credit card or did they say they could not find any record of the credit card?

Tell them that you believe you had not complained previously and ask them to check again that is it yours.

Forget CPP as the ability to complain about that closed a long time ago.

We’re you given FOS rights at the time? You get 6 months to refer your complaint to the ombudsman. You’re now past that so it looks like it’s game over.

They may have wrote to you in 2013 to offer a review of the sale. If this is the case, the complaint’s now timebarred, so you can’t complain even if the deadline hadn’t already passed.

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

Did you use the credit card you didn't apply for or want?
  • Yes I used the card that I was issued & had PPI on it, I’m fuming as I’ve been lied to & fobbed off. I’ve had to request letters as the originals had been sent to address’s I no longer live, A letter regarding commission on PPI was sent to an address I lived at 10 years aswell, luckily I still know people that live there so they got the letter to me, I spoke to the bank & they said I needed to call that department of the bank to change my address, which is a load of rubbish as they have the address I live at currently, yet more lies.

The deadline for PPI complaints has now passed.
  • WooHoo!

Barclays paid out for credit card.. So pleased £11, 628.44 from back in the early 90s.

Using Resolver I did this entirely myself following Martin's brilliant instructions. Thank you Martin and the Team!

Hi Sally, congratulations! What a great result! By the way, did you already have your paperwork/account number/credit card number/statements before complaining? Or did you get your information via a Subject Access Request? Did they initially acknowledge you had PPI? When did you initially complain? Thanks
  • Excellent result Sally.

May I also ask did you manage to retrieve statements from Barclaycard from the 1990's or did you have copies yourself?
My case is currently being considered. I challenged the amount refunded and supplied statements. I'm awaiting a decision. The PPI was from 1996-2004.
Not expecting further redress but, you never know!!
