I have previously been refunded some ppi through a claims company. I have not heard from them for over a year as my case I would presume is closed. On Friday I received a cheque from Barclaycard saying that they had made a mistake last year when the claims company made ppi enquires and they did owe me compensation etc. My question is do I have to still pay the claims company a fee after 14months of no contact with them? Company is uclaim4me... thanks0

Hello Karen
My understanding is Barclays should have copied in uclaim4me when they sent you the offer because the enquiry of miss-selling came from uclaim4me on your behalf. You would have signed an agreement with them so they can take their %. So I would say YES you do still owe uclaim4me!
but I'm not an expert. Maybe someone out there who is may give better advice.0 -
Thanks for your reply. Does that mean there is no end date to the agreement?0

Hi Karen
I would have said that this part with uclaim4me and you for Barclays is now concluded once the agreed amount has been paid to them. But as I said previously I'm not an expert it's just my opinion.
Hope it helps.:)0 -

Used the template on Lloyds website and complained about a loan (as discussed in another post) and my old credit card.
One 20/30 minute phone call to explain what had happened when I took the credit card out, conversation at the time, as much as I could remember about the advisor and the bank, my job/perks - could I speak to one of my old workmates to find out what the perks were, went over everything several times and was told I would hear in a few weeks and a cheque would follow.
Haven't had the letter, but have spoken with them.
Amount awarded just under £4,300 after deducting tax.
Total for the CC and loan is over £10k and I'm waiting for the payments.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -
Hi All, I've just had a success from First Direct with two loans I completely forgot about, I had a loan in 1999 for 12 months and another for 3 years from 2000.
I got £2145 inc 20% tax deduction..... Another great step to being debt free.0 -
Santander payout was for a Debenhams card. Can't fault their response - very quick and no hassle.0
