  • I filled in a simple online form with Lloyds. I gave only the most basic information and they searched all my historic accounts for me and where they found PPI they automatically turned my enquiry into a complaint. The whole thing took me about 5 minutes and it's exactly a month. They have just offered me £2,458.27 for mis-sold PPI on three personal loans. It helps of course that all my loans, bank accounts and credit cards were with one provider, but still. Great result, so I recommend anyone to do it.

I didn’t think I’d ever had PPI except on a credit card years ago that I cancelled almost immediately cause I noticed the payment on my statement but last month I noticed a £1.60 charge on my banking statement called overdraft PPI, I went back over my statements on the app which go back 10 years and it was showing all the way back. I think I didn’t notice it cause it’s such an insignificant amount and possibly was called something else previously. I bank with Barclays so went online and filled out the online form to claim it back as I have zero recollection or ever agreeing to this cover of having taken it out, and I never even use my overdraft! I had no other information other than I have no idea why this was added. I got a letter 5 days later saying they would investigate and I should have a conclusion by 26th August latest however I logged into my banking app on Tuesday and they have already credited a refund under the name PPI & INT refund for the amount of £1882. I could not believe it was that much, I’ve not had a letter yet to shoe me the break down I have however had a summary of any ppi products I had with my bank as I requested this at the same time and that indicated the cover stated in 1998 so 21 years ago. I’m absolutely made up. The breakdown says I’ve had a few other ppi products over the years so I’ve now complained about these and fingers crossed. It’s so worth the five minutes to fill out the form. I was paid in ten days from start of the application.. :-)

So we have just finished with all out PPI claims not expecting to get any success.

In the end we got back just over £4000 from £gg and Barcl@ys for an overdraft and a loan.

Really pleased we did it of course and so easy to do!

I claimed from Santander for PPi I thought I might have on "some" cards about 9 days ago. Had acknowledgement within 2 days and today I casually opened a thick envelope from them expecting "blah bah nothing due or we couldnt find any valid cards" but ......in the letters was the magic figure of....£5201.98. I was/am in shock! The Debenhams card I had charged me £450 in PPI and the rest was interest.Sent back the "I accept" form and bank details:j:beer::beer::j immediately and when received will clear credit card and overdraft. I cant thank Martin enough - I already feel so much less anxious over finances and this will make life so much easier for me.
    Thanks Martin and team.

I have now read Martins note about income tax and will be writing to Tax Office for a refund of part of the tax deducted by Santander. I calculate another £200 due to me.It gets even better!!!!
  • I calculate another £200 due to me

If you are a lower earner (less than £17,500 in the current tax year) you might be able to use the savings starter rate of tax where upto £5,000 of savings interest is taxed at 0%.

If your £200 is based on being able to use the savings nil rate of tax (also 0%) don't forget any normal (non ISA) interest will need to be taken into account when any refund is calculated.

Thank you to Martin and others for raising awareness. I only claimed because of this site. I was sure I wouldn't get a payout as I had claimed against the insurance in the past.

Mortgage PPI - Barclays - £6.8K even after tax and deductions for previous payouts for claiming against the policy of about £5K !! They sent me two letters and two cheques - they were 2 different policies a few years apart.

Looked on here and then used the Which website to submit claim - only gave them addresses and times at addresses no policy numbers. (Took 5 mins) They rang me and originally told me that I didn't have ppi (20 ish minute call) - I told them they were wrong and that I had had mortgage ppi. I had paid it about 16 years!!! I will now save around £400 a year for not being insured for something that would have paid around £7K (for 1 year only) if I had claimed for a whole year. I have now established an emergency fund and will seek to self insure.

They seem to have paid out due to Plevin. Also at the time me and my husband were earning £60-70K between us so the product shouldn't have been sold to me to provide £575 cover. We had generous sick pay and redundancy schemes. There was also about 5 years within that period where I wouldn't have been entitled to claim as I was made redundant and took short term contracts while I looked for permanent roles. This wasn't made clear enough to me - and I took a short term role after redundancy and then found out I should have asked their permission first. That then meant I wasn't eligible to claim for unemployment when the contract ended - even though I'd only taken it to get off job seeker's allowance and stop claiming the insurance!!

    Hope that helps.

Hello where you a student etc when you applied. I cannot believe your success and I am amazed as my husband has been knocked back as been told it’s a non advised product therefore despite him having no idea he had it they are basically saying tough. He had other measures in place. I’m going to ombudsman. Amazing well done!
  • I was claiming PPI for a credit card with Barclaycard and got back £4219. Just using the Resolver form.

My mum is in residential care and I have POA for her. I didn’t know whether she had PPI, but after hearing Martin on the radio I decided to put in a claim. I only did it through Resolver on 2nd June, and got an acknowledgement from Barclaycard Just 5 days later. Last week a letter arrived with a cheque for £4219.
I’m pleasantly surprised at how quickly they have dealt with it, even though I had no details of her account number or how long she had the card. The Resolver service was extremely easy and quick to use.

Two successful complaints with exactly identical refunds (£4219) is not credble.
