PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Thanks to this website advising me that time was running out to claim PPI and encouraging those of us who had previously been rejected to try again, I did so, 3 years after my initial claim!
Today (less than 3 weeks after I re-submitted my claim to Barclaycard) I received a cheque for £2073.71 - tax already deducted! I am over the moon and so grateful to this website.
I have also reapplied to Egg Card (via Barclaycard) so fingers crossed I will win this one as well!
So it was with great delight I was able to change my signature today (3 years on), and remove the note that showed that Barclaycard had rejected my claim.
Oh, and very well done @rsdiscos and @stephonice for your fantastic results as well! Hopefully both our stories will encourage other people to claim.I incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.
PPI claims won against Barclays x 2/ Egg x 1/ LV x . PPI claims rejected and then upheld Barclays/Egg x 20 -
Just been informed by the Ombudsman that my challenge to Barclaycard over the misselling of PPI on my Egg Credit Card from 2002 has been upheld and they will be writing to me with an offer within the next 8 weeks. I'm very pleased, albeit completely unaware of the possible amount they will be offering. The Ombudsman state it will be in line with Ombudsman principles, whatever that means!Original Total: £34200.78 / Current Total: £24017.00 (July 2017) -29.88%!
DMP started March 2014. DFD: November 20250 -

Ah that's good news for you and for me, because it may mean my challenge will also be upheld!

I completely agree, which is why I said "it may mean my challenge will also be upheld!"I incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.

As a sole trader my husband had a business account with Lloyds from the late 80's to mid 90's. With the account he had an overdraft which he used to manage his cash flow and for which he paid a fixed monthly payment called "overdraft insurance". He couldn't have the overdraft without the insurance and although we had savings it made it easier to keep business and personal money separate. We weren't sure if this was the same as PPI and had no bank statements, policy details or cheque books left, but my nerdy little brain did remember the account number. He made a claim for misselling before Christmas and have heard today that his claim has been upheld and he will be receiving just under £4,000. No surprise that he's delighted.Nothing is truly lost until your mum can't find it!0

Well done! May I ask what date you put your claim in? I put a claim in with LLoyds, which was received on 3rd Dec. Said would hear by the 27th Jan.0

Claim went in on 30th November. He got a letter on 9th December acknowledging the complaint and explaining the process. He had a phone call just before Christmas confirming some details and he chased them today. There is a letter on its way written 8th Jan and a cheque will be issued within the next 28 days. They don't send money by BACS! Hope this is useful.Nothing is truly lost until your mum can't find it!0

MARBLES say they don't hold paperwork and have rejected my ppi claim but they do accept that there was a ppi policy on my account.
I've referred to the financial ombudsman but wondered if anyone had a similar experience and what the outcome was and how long this might take.
thanks0
