In my experience, Lloyds have no records before about 1994. Even if you have all the documentation, it is still a struggle to get them to acknowledge any issues with their older loans and the Ombudsman's help was vital in my case.
  • The 4th success for me ..

After RBS,MBNA,RBS ....totalling around £8k ( all done by filling in the template document available on this site)

This Tims around was a post redirection letter saying that MBNA asked me so talk about an loan account from 2006.

without doing anything but fill in a form I have just got £1082.66 a different rate from a credit card PPI (this was explained by MBNA)

    Happy.

    Less HMRC ... £1002.15

    Lovely.

    Time to move on
  • Utterly delighted. After years of seeing the PPI reclaims going on and not being sure whether I qualified, I logged into my Barclaycard account and used their form to put in a claim. A week later I received a letter asking me how I would like to be paid were my claim successful, and a week after that, a letter telling me that £9338.06 would be paid into my bank account within 10 days! Enough to wipe out ALL of my outstanding debts and still leave a nice lump sum to go into savings. I'm off to dig out my store card details now, to see if GE Money owe me too...

Thank you, thank you, thank you MSE :rotfl::j:rotfl:

    Hi Guys,

I've received a cheque for just under£7K from Lloyds TSB for PPI going back to the early 90's.

    I'm a bit puzzled though.

The claim for PPI refund was on 7 loans that I had back then. I got myself into a lot of money troubles, and was encouraged by the old TSB to borrow my way out of it, which I duly did. But, as you'd expect, everything came to a head and I ended up on a DMP.

Now the reason I'm puzzled is that they have upheld the PPI claim on some loans and paid out, but not on the others, even though the circumstances were the exact same for all of them.

My question is, should I complain about the defended ones, even though I've already banked the cheque?

The cheque arrived before I received the reasons and logic behind the pay out.

    Regards,

Maybe the others were not included in the chain of loans (gaps between them). Or maybe you failed to pay the full debt and they are offsetting some of the redress.

Its unlikely the same person sold you PPI the same way multiple times over many years.

That would make sense as I did a partial settlement with them.

    Thanks for that dunstonh :)
