Sorry but I honestly am no good with computers and have no idea how to start a new forum question.
If anyone could help that would be great or better still if anyone could help with the reason I'm on here.
I recently voluntarily surrendered my home and just two days ago it went to auction and got sold. There is an additional 15k owed by myself ( I only know this because I went to the auction and watched ) now I have heard nothing back from Halifax since the day I surrendered the keys which was about 3 months ago so therefore now the house has been sold and I in theory owe Halifax 15k... However, meanwhile during the past 3 months (namely on June 1st) I applied for a ppi claim against Halifax with all the info and paperwork thus very likely going to get a nice settlement figure.... since I've heard nothing back from Halifax in three months ...I was wandering would I get to keep the ppi as I am not yet on any debt management plan or nothing like that *yet* .. I should hear back from the ppi within the next 3/4 weeks and was wandering is there any way to 'get in there before they stick the knife in and use the money to pay off the debt I owe them' ... I'm just really skint atm and the money would be lovely to help with hard times.

Just to say I contacted Lloyds around 2012 to complain about mortgage, credit card and loan PPI. I always thought my branch were aggressive sellers and never felt able to refuse when given the option for PPI. I had various loans upheld and was refunded around 5.5k however my mortgage and credit card PPI where refused. A month ago I came home to a letter stating they had looked at my complaint on my mortgage again and decided to uphold my complaint and were paying me 3.5k, 3 weeks later I came back to another letter stating they were upholding my cc complaint and paying me 6.5k!!
I have now had a call from Lloyds looking into 2 more of my loans and I should hear back soon. My main problem with all the PPI I was sold was I was reliant on a full time and part time wage so I don't think the policy's would have been suitable! Also the branch I used was extremely aggressive when it came to selling products, I knew I would go overdrawn once and asked them to increase my overdraft by £50, but they managed to sell me a 5k loan (i was young and impressionable at the time) I have now changed which one I use. Hopefully I will hear back from the other 2 loans soon but not really that bothered if it's a no, what I have got back in the last month has gone a long way to clear off some debt and that has made me extremely happy!!0 -

If you win redress, they will let you know what will happen at that point.0 -
Hi everyone
I recently received a letter from HSBC about a loan i had in 2005 and ppi
The loan i think was for £3000, i have no paperwork any more and my memory is not great!
The loan was repaid in full over 3 years
They have offered me £777 for mis-selling the ppi
Does this sound about right? I have no idea, to be honest i cant remember if i even did have Ppi on the loan
The breakdown is
Ppi redress: £503.26
Taxable interest: £343.15
Less basic rate tax: £68.63
Total £777.78
I've not claimed any ppi on anything else so not sure whether this is a good offer?
Should i just accept or should it be more?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Will.0 -

It is the correct offer. There is no good or bad. it is a refund of the premium paid plus interest (minus tax).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Ah ok i see
Excuse my ignorance, i wasn't sure if it was an "offer" so to speak, rather than actual refund of the premium plus interest, based off the exact premium i'd paid
Just heard stories of "my bank offered this, but i refused and got more"....
Like i say i wasnt even aware of the ppi on the loan, so its a welcome bonus!
Thanks for the reply :beer:0 -
I had had a ppi letter from hsbc stating they have mis-sold me ppi on a loan I paid early, I sent the response back and 3 weeks later I am still waiting for the money. Does anyone else know the timescale for hsbc? Thanks in advance... I thought I would have the money by now!!0

Did they send you a letter saying you were mis-sold or that you could have been mis-sold?
i.e. did you complain and they agree with you or did they write to you first?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. they wrote first, I replied and sent what info I had and they agreed I had been mis-sold, that all happened quickly, now the payment is slow!0

I had a claim upheld with hsbc about 3 weeks ago, i popped into the branch to find out what id i needed, as i dont drive and dont have current passport, so they took other id from me and sent it off, after 2 weeks, i get a letter saying the id wasnt good enough, even though it was certified in a hsbc branch, so i returned to the branch tried another way of id, and im still awaiting payment, all seems a lot of hassle for a small amount, when other banks send cheques much less hassle.0
