PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I had a phone call today from FOS regarding 3 loans I submitted to them in January 2013 to say the Co-operative Bank have agreed to refund all 3 loans which date back to 1994, 1996 & 1997. Co-operative Bank originally paid out on loans from 2000 - 2006 but stated insufficient loan/PPI information to calculate PPI refund on earlier loans. Really pleased, I just have to wait for written confirmation from FOS then bank will contact me directly apparently.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained but the original loan application form in 1994 did show myself employed as a Civil Servant & my husband as a serving member of the forces.0

MBNA have rejected my PPI claim as they state that it was taken out more than six years ago, card application from 2002. I have a further 5 claims ongoing with the FSO all taken out prior to 2002 and none have been rejected by the banks for this reason.
Assume MBNA are just trying to fob me off and haven't in my view followed the PPI redress handbook. Card taken out at a concert as was approached by one of their sales guys who filled out the application and i just signed, no discussion around PPI but added to the card. Main compliant to MBNA is that selling products at a concert venue where people are in a frame of mind not conducive to making financial decisions mainly due to alcohol intake.
 Any views?0

A couple of years back, Lloyds Bank, MBNA and Capital One all rejected my PPI claims.
Out of the blue, at the turn of the year, MBNA and Lloyds wrote and told me they had reconsidered their original decision, and paid up. Each claim was for less than £1000, the sum total being about £1200.
I have not heard from Capital One. I estimate that the claim against them may have been over £1000. Should I wait for them to contact me or can anyone advise me the best way to word an approach letter.
I would be most grateful for any advice on this. Has anyone else been approached out of the blue with a settlement like this?0

Did you have a good sick package from work?.
Did you work less than 16 hours a week?
 Did you have life insurance?
Was the PPI added on to the loan total and you made one payment a month for account?, if you did then this was Single Premium PPI, in effect a loan on the loan repayable to term end with interest.
Use the above as reasons for mis sell if they apply to you, show you did not need it.
Thanks so much for getting back to me amersall.
I had good sick pay, and was working full-time. As for life insurance, I did not have that.
I paid for the PPI, I seem to recall it being a separate amount each month, so would that be the Single Premium?
 Thanks again.0

It's not a claim, it's a complaint of misselling. They probably won#t contact you because they have a fairly good complaints procedure.
You're out of time to complain to the FOS so all you can do is ask them to look at it again. Don't expect the result to be any different though.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

We were 'persuaded' to have PPI on our BMW purchase. The policy form clearly says PPI, yet when I went through Charterhouse to claim, it was not entertained. Now I've tried to claim through another company and BMW Finance won't deal with it as I've tried before. Charterhouse never replied to my letter to them when I asked the reason for rejection. Can I have another go or is it the Ombudsman?0
