PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I had a loan with Alliance & Leicester, which was taken by Santander. The original loan was for £10,500 and got £6,700 back when I claimed for mid-sold PPI.
On my MBNA credit card I got £195 back for PPI.:beer:
I am now trying to get my PPI back from Lloyds TSB on a loan that was paid off in 2010. When I rang them to confirm the account number, they admitted that in all there were 3 loans and I paid PPI on all of them but they are insisting that I supply paperwork to prove I paid PPI??
Has anyone else come across this?0 -
The policy form clearly says PPI, yet when I went through Charterhouse to claim, it was not entertained. Now I've tried to claim through another company and BMW Finance won't deal with it as I've tried before.
You have one bite at the cherry. If the firm reject the complaint, you have 6 months to refer it to the FOS if you disagree. If you dont and its gone past 6 months, then you are time barred from future complaint unless there is significant new information. Can I have another go or is it the Ombudsman?
You cant have another go and if its over 6 months ago then you out of time for the ombudsman.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I have a ppi claim for my marbles credit card with FOS been with them since April 2012.I received a letter from FOS 4 weeks ago saying they were upholding & they give them 4 weeks to reply. they have agreed to pay however FOS now say they are waiting for them to send info on how they calculate there offer. Making sure they pay interest plus simple interest. Has anyone else been in similar situation. Other ppi claims that were successful through FOS , the business just sent a letter with breakdown and offer & if you were happy with that you signed and eventually got cheque. Wonder how long I have to wait now its already been nearly 3 years.0

You complain to the dealer who sold it to you, not the provider. If it was sold prior to January 2005 you're out of luck and you have no access to the FOS because it's pre regulation.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Afraid the PPI was not Single premium as you paid it separately from the loan so you cannot use that as a reason, as you had no life insurance either, you cannot claim that the loan would be paid off in the event of your death, did you have death in service benefit from your employer or, savings that would have repaid the loan?, if you did then you could use these as reasons. Thanks so much for getting back to me amersall.
I had good sick pay, and was working full-time. As for life insurance, I did not have that.
I paid for the PPI, I seem to recall it being a separate amount each month, so would that be the Single Premium?
Thanks again.
As you had a good sick package from work, you could state that you could repay the card from this (if you had a decent period for this pay) and why would you pay for sickness insurance when you did not need it.0 -
I called Barclays, with whom I took a loan (the PPI was around £3000) upon graduating uni to consolidate credit card debts - I didn't have to submit a thing to them, as I still bank with them, and within 5 weeks I had £4500 deposited in my account.
Beyond easy, and now we can look for a house!0 -
Masterloan taken out in 1992 from Barclays.
Received a refund of £1863 . took 14 days from my letter being posted.
Found the original agreement taken out in 1992 for 3 years on a loan for £4000 ( I didn't even remember taking out the loan )
£612 was added to the loan for PPI.
I didn't need PPI because of my Employer's sickness benefit package,
I wrote a letter giving as much detail as possible and enclosed copies of the agreement and an end statement.
Had an acknowledgement letter back within 5 days ....today while checking my balance online I see they put the PPI refund into my account.
BIG THANKS FOR THE ADVICE I GOT FROM THIS WEBSITE

I say this but I am not sure which it was, I just seem to recall seeing it as a separate amount on my statement. I did have a pension with BT (my employer at the time) and I am fairly sure there was a death in service benefit.
The credit limit and loans were - individually - less that my monthly salary. I did get into a a bad situation financially because Yorkshire Bank had ridiculous bank charges and I had a snowball effect going on, even though I was on really great money. I think it is too late to claim for that as well?0 -

If you had death in service benefit then put this.
You could try for the bank charges and see what they say.0 -
Complained to Royal Bank of Scotland in Jan this year re PPI taken out with a loan in 2001. Just got letters confirming their decision. In total they are offering £3200. Very happy. Thanks MSE.0
