PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

Hi there, 1st time user.
I've received a letter back from the Bank of Scotland saying they
"Have decided to uphold my claim" and they have stated an amount to pay me back.
They go in to say.
"Having considered the circumstance surrounding the sale of the policy using the records we hold, I accept the allegation and agree the policy was not appropriate for you, however during my investigation, I was able to establish from our records that you odd not make any payments towards the policy"???????
This is crazy I had the MPPI policy for 8 years and paid monthly premiums religiously.
I no longer have my bank statements, and can't provide evidence to the fact that I paid, but it was paid from a BOS bank account against a BOS mortgage.
They have the MPPI policy numbers, mortgage account numbers and my Bank account numbers.
The offer they have made is 25% of what I was expecting, but I'm afraid to challenge in fear of the. Getting nothing at all.
If they have made an offer to settle, and I challenge for what I believe to be the correct amount, is the original offer "safe in the bank".
Should I stand up for my rights, and risk challenge for more, or settle for more.
How can they say they have no evidence I have not paid any premium if they are willing to make an offer?
Confused . Com
Help please any advice is appreciated0 -
Get back in touch and ask them why they are making you any offer if you did not pay this, ask them what they worked the redress out on, only they can tell you..
If you reject this offer and as you have no proof of payments made, they could withdraw this offer.0 -

I had a loan from Barclays, taken out in 1997, I knew rough dates, amount and length of term, etc, but had no paperwork. I phoned to check if Barclays could find it and they couldn't, but I knew I had PPI which I was told to take out to have the loan accepted. So I filled in the forms with details I had and thought I had only lost the cost of a stamp if it wasn't successful. I quickly had a response back with the policy number on it (so much for not being able to find it) and was over the moon to get a cheque 6 weeks later for £2200! :j. Just shows, sometimes the lenders can get it wrong!0

Just got backn £1100 from Halifax from 1998. It was only a passing comment made from someone at the Halifax that made me fill in their form and within 6 weeks I had received a cheque.0

Hi,
First post here, but been a lurker for ages and wouldn't have bothered claiming PPI without this site.
I wonder if anyone can answer a few (not-so-quick) questions?
Just had an "offer" for PPI redress for £3194 from MBNA with no detailed info about how they calculated it - just PPI premiums and interest amounts.
This was a credit card account closed in 2008 and I have 90% of the original statements and the SAR from MBNA which match.
So, using spreadsheets I've found on here, without PPI the account would have gone into credit in June '06, 2.5 years before it finally did. For that 2.5 years, the only transactions are PPI plus interest and my payments which totalled £2850. Then as soon as it was cleared, I closed it in October 2008.
I'm trying to understand why MBNA don't also owe me the £2850 sum plus interest up to today, or do they ?
They've also omitted any late payment fees, and over-limit charges which I'm sure can't apply.
I'd be happy to scan and post redacted copies of letters if they're help to anyone else dealing with MBNA. For information, their offer letter came one month after the FOS letter upholding my claim (which took about 18 months).
Sorry if this is too long or in the wrong place !
